I can't really talk too much about how other teachers work, and also don't want to. But I know I have and always had many happy and successful students. From kids, adults, professionals, hobbyists to people who retired and finally have time to fulfill a life goal.

About Mac

Hello Students, Parents, Grandparents and all the other happy people. :) Just send me a message if you are interested in taking lessons and we go from there and figure out what goals you have and how we can take it from there. I teach kids (my youngest was 4 years old when we started), adults, pr

Marcel is an extremely capable German tutor. He has an extensive understanding of German and will out of his way to help you learn.

I take lessons from Marcel for about 5 years now. We started with Accordion and I asked him later if he could teach me German as well. I knew he would teach German. No I am taking 3 hours accordion and mostly 2-3 hours German on the weekends and I am loving it.

I can truly say he is one of the best teachers / tutors out there. He is not only super patient but puts so much heart and passion into the lessons.

I know he is mostly super busy but if you have the chance to take lessons with him, I would say GO FOR IT! :)

First thing I do before first day of class is send out an enthusiastic email and call shortly after. Briefly discussing and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class.

Hello, I'm here to inspire creativity while guiding the students through interactive technique and skills so that they may find their own voice and be motivated to express it through the arts. I am originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I was raised in a community here in the states infused wi

Priscilla (Ms. P) is a wonderful instructor. She is fun, engaging and enthusiastic; but also a serious motivator for my preteen. I especially appreciate the weekly lesson summary provided by Ms. P that detail what was accomplished in the lesson and emphasizing what was performed particularly well by my student. I highly recommend Ms. P to anyone interested.

I am a certified teacher with a master's degree in Radio, TV, Film and one in education as well. I was an adjunct professor of photography at Manhattan's New School for Social Research for 10 years and have spent another 10 years teaching other adults as well as adolescents photography. I have conducted private lessons as well as workshops in my own studio.
My teaching is unique because, unlike many photography clubs where members voice their various opinions on photographs, my technique involves an objective approach where lessons are given each time that can be analyzed to see if requirements of the assignment were met. This way, the student learns not just through critiques, but by comparing his or her results to successful examples. I also do quite a bit of field work and teaching by example. It's the most effective way to learn. I get students putting their digital cameras on "MANUAL" right away and they master the concepts of correct exposure right off the bat.

About William

I have been doing commercial photography for over 40 years. I owned and operated a large studio on West 22nd Street in NYC for 20 of those years and I taught photography from 1988 to the present. I have never stopped. I like one-on-one sessions, but I have also conducted many workshops and classes

I got my first camera when I was 8 years old and have been a passionate shutterbug ever since. I can teach you how to use all of the manual features on your camera to get the effects you want to achieve, and I can help you to train your eye to see and capture memorable compositions.

Taking pictures is the first part of the journey - the second is editing them to adjust exposure, saturation, contrast, etc. I work with Photoshop and can teach you how to tune your images and fix problems like lens dust, harsh shadows, or face shine in flash pictures.

I encourage each student to find his or her personal style to express a unique vision. You don't need any experience to become an artist, just the desire to start noticing new things all around you and capturing moments to share with others!

"I took two classes with Julie, business and digital photography. Both were very well prepared, planned out and taught. For each of the classes Julie prepared her own text books that outlined the curriculum and were very helpful for later reviews. In class she used slides with more information and examples of work, which were very helpful especially in the photography class. With her background in business and photography, we benefitted from her first hand experiences and recommendations regarding best photography equipment to invest in. Classes were not only informative but also fun and hands on. Her passion for photography is highly contagious ! I started from being intimidated by my camera but ended up enjoying and recognising the fun behind taking photos. I highly recommend Julie and hope to continue my own photography journey with her as my teacher."

What is the Best Lighting for Photography?
