The violin has been a constant and enriching presence throughout my life, and I enjoy helping people engage with this instrument that is demanding and rewarding in equal measure. No matter your age or level of expertise, I would be happy to help you along as you discover new musical territory. Hello everyone, I look forward to working with you! My name is Dr. Jung, and I play and teach violin and viola. I debuted with the Seoul Grand Symphony Orchestra at age 13 and the Rainbow Youth Orchestra at age 14. Since then, I have gone on to win several competitions in South Korea and completed my education in both the Czech Republic and the USA.

In addition to over 10 years of private lesson teaching experience, I am violin faculty at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and a violin instructor with the Jackson Symphony String Team.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me performing for the “If Music be the Food…Lansing” series and Camerata Michigan, Cello Plus Series directed by Suren Bagratuni. I was concertmaster for the Michigan State Concert Orchestra and have appeared with several regional orchestras, including the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra and Midland Symphony Orchestra.

Laura has been a great teacher for my 6 year-old daughter (starting taking lessons when she was 5). She is endlessly patient and has a perfect balance of fun and instruction in all her lessons. She helped us every step of the way--picking out the right rental instrument, finding extra workbooks that would be fun, coming up with ways to make practicing at home enticing. Laura is made to be a fiddle teacher--she has a obvious passion both for the music and sharing it with her students. My daughter left every lesson with Laura beaming with pride. I'd recommend anyone searching for a teacher to go with Laura!
