Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well! I am Junling and am a professional pianist working at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I have been play piano for 20+ years and have a Masters degree in Piano Performance. I love performance, but I am more passionate with teaching piano.
I am experienced with teaching piano in all ages and levels. My goal is to become a better teacher by having a chance to teach students with different interests and tastes in music like Classical, Jazz, Pop, or Broadway and to help students to approach their goal in music.
I always believe that creating a good bond with my students is the most important aspect of teaching. Ever since I had my experience with the teacher that changed my life, I have always not only had a love for playing piano but also a love for teaching. I have tried my absolute best to replicate her formula to share the wonderful experience I had with my current students, and it's something I plan on doing for the rest of my life.
About Junling

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Our son Ukki, age 7 years has been learning both piano (almost 6 months) and guitar (about a month) from Edwin. We couldnt be happier.
Not only does Edwin have great technical knowledge about the music he teaches, he also has the skills to keep a 7 year old interested and involved in the music he is learning for two hours at a stretch. He is very patient and aware of how to maximise a child's learning without creating any stress at all.
Ukki looks forward to his back to back piano and guitar classes every week! We highly recommend Edwin for both piano and guitar. Hard to find a teacher like him."

I have been working with Troy for about 4 months now and I have been making progress at an incredible speed. He is very meticulous in his teachings in the best way and he doesn't let you get away with technical errors without correcting them. He is truly passionate about music and teaching it and will go to any length for his student as long as they are willing to do the same. He always has great insight to the pieces you learn, even at the beginner level, so you don't just learn how to play a song, but you learn where it came from and what it may have been intended for. He doesn't just teach you what keys to play and when, but he constantly encourages you to bring emotion and character to your playing as well, which can be difficult to do with beginner pieces but somehow he had me playing the simplest of songs with feelings and style behind them. He is very patient with his students and constantly encouraging and uplifting. He will not let a lesson go by without giving you positive feedback, even if you come to a lesson completely unprepared because you haven't practiced since you last saw him.
I would highly recommend Troy to anyone that is interested in learning music the right way. He is a quality music professional and will do everything in his power to give you the best education you can receive.
(Note: The only reason I rated teaching environment "Good" instead of "Excellent" is because he has cats so if you have allergies, it might not be the best fit for you.)"

Proper piano posture: the words alone are enough to make any pianist wince, straighten up, and make every effort to maintain it, at least for a few minutes. You may not realize that when you’re playing the piano, your posture is a key factor in your technique and whether or not you feel at ease practicing the instrument. Because practicing is a repetitive activity, it’s important to do it well. Otherwise, you risk reinforcing bad habits through repetition. If you struggle with ma …
