Even before my time at Berklee, I spent years striving to put myself into every musical situation possible. This gave me a multi-perspective understanding that allows me to comfortably advise students of all ages and backgrounds regarding several different instruments, styles, and theoretical concepts.

My favorite part about teaching, regardless of discipline, is the fact that it allows me to keep growing and learning while sharing my experiences to help others do the same. So whether you want to work on jazz, pop, or classical, feel free to reach out, and I will happily customize and create the learning environment that you desire!

About Ryan

I am new to TakeLessons! I am a professional pianist, vibraphonist, and percussionist. I recently graduated from Berklee, where I spent much of my time composing, arranging, and performing. I specialize in Jazz, but also frequently help people learn the arts of classical and pop music. Whether

Highly recommend Ryan!

He will take it whatever speed you like and will teach whatever you need. I have learned new things about music theory as well and he makes learning the piano interesting and engaging.

Ryan is awesome! I am a beginner, and Ryan has been so helpful teaching me the basics of notes, key signatures, rhythm, and many other components of piano and music, and we’ve even delved into some music theory. He makes learning fun and easy, and is also flexible with meeting times and can even do lessons over facetime if you can’t make it to his place. He is so talented and welcoming and will make you love piano even more than you already do.
Justin
I took jazz piano lessons with Ryan and he was a great teacher! He drilled a number of fundamentals such as jazz theory, ear training, and improvising which really helped demystify jazz piano for me. Not only does he have a wealth of musical ability, he is also a very kind and patient teacher. I highly recommend taking lessons with Ryan!

My 5 year old takes classes with her. She is a very shy and anxious child. Ms Paniyeva has been very patient and accommodating. She can read and play in 5 months. I can’t believe her progress. I think we were very lucky to find her. My daughter calls her always Smiling.

I'm satisfied with the lessons I took, even though seven months of piano still not enough.
Beverly
I learned a lot in seven months with Liana. I was pleased to have her, but I'm still slow. I think I need six months more in order to gain enough speed. Anyway, Liana is a good instructor to start with. She encourages and leaves you with no fear.

It was only a first lesson but I can already tell I'm going to be taking more lessons with Daniel. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated. He detailed a specific plan for me to work on that isn't too rigid or boring, I'm looking forward to relearning the flute with him.

Specifically: KEYBOARDS. Forget boring lessons! I can show you my Method to make playing & creating FUN and efficient regardless your skill level! Whether you want to learn the real thing or just bought the latest synthesizer, there are certain techniques and approaches I have found in the past 30+ years to work like DYNAMITE -- IF... someone shows you a new way of playing. I have not only taught myself by ear but have over the years successfully taught many students my Method of getting good on a keyboard. I do not approach lessons in the "traditional" sense beyond proper posture and common sense ways to avoid injury. I get to the core of learning to play the instrument in a way that is EASY, FUN, and incredibly TO-THE-POINT! If your goal is NOT to be a classically trained pianist, but rather: you want to learn to EXPRESS yourself on ANY keyboard you have available to you in a way that is stress-free, inspiring, and efficient... you've found your new Maestro!

I really appreciate Mark's teaching ability. He breathes music and make it easy to understand. I wasn't expecting to make that much progress or to have that depth of knowledge of music or my instrument in only 5 lessons. He gives a lot and he is eager to respond to my questions. I recommend Mark as a accordion teacher.

Mark V. was great. He knew how to keep class fun and engaging. He truly cares and teaches piano in a way that is intuitive and can be applied to more than one instrument.

I spent twelve years studying classical piano under the tutorship for an classical pianist from Oberlin Conservatory and am currently on the piano faculty at Music and Arts in Franklin, TN.

You will get a excellent foundation for technique, style, sight-reading, harmony, and repertoire than will transfer to any other genre. Beginning students will start with a foundation for technique and apply these to basic repertoire, learn to read music, and play scales. Intermediate and beyond will build and improve on these skills to learn classical repertoire and more complex pieces.

She kinds of stimulate thinking at the time of learning and hence make piano learning interesting for kids rather than something complicated and boring stuff.

She was also nice to offer free lessons in month of august, that helped us to evaluate her compatibility with my daughter."

The 6 Best Reasons for Adults to Take Piano Lessons

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Pablo Picasso According to the 2008 NAMM Global Report on Music, 82% of adults who don't play a musical instrument wish they did. It's a funny thing for a musician like me to meet different people--a physician or an attorney, for example--and hear her say, "Gee, I always wished that I could do that."
