Had my first lesson last night to learn about night photography. I bought myself a fancy camera (Sony A7R4) and I had no idea how to use it or what any of the buttons did other than turning it on and having it set to auto. I didn’t know the first thing about photography other than point and shoot. Irina immediately had me change my camera to manual and told me to not use auto. I loved that! Irina also told me the lesson was going to be a lot of information for a beginner such as myself wanting to learn about my photography first. Yes, it was a lot to take in but, I can say that I left my lesson with Irina feeling way more confident about how to use my camera properly and I can’t wait to have additional lessons to learn more. Now I know the 3 basic settings of Shutter, Aperture and ISO and how they affect your shots and Irina even put together a booklet for me that explains the basics of photography that includes the need to know information on how to change settings depending on photography location, lighting time of day, desired effects etc. Fantastic job Irina and I can’t wait to learn more with additional lessons.

I lost the "joy" of photography with Irina. Technically, she knows her stuff, but her sensitivity and people skills are lacking. Barely an encouraging word. I felt degraded, nervous, and overall shitty by the end of the second lesson. Hoping for a better experience with another teacher.
