I'm a published pro photographer living in Seattle teaching all levels of photography and photo processing and printing. My focus is making it fun to get up to speed quickly.
SCHEDULE NOTE: This is a very busy time of year for me. My availability is quite limited, so please check with me prior to scheduling. I have set the automatic calendar very tightly so please ask if there's a specific date and time not listed that you're interested in booking. END OF NOTE
Hello from Seattle! I love teaching! For more than 40 years and I have been a professional photographer. I was the Team Photographer for the Washington Stealth pro indoor lacrosse team for three years, and teach photography at the Pacific Science Center, the Bellevue Club, The Leica Store, Glazer's Camera, Omega Photo and other locations. I have shot professionally since I was 15. My photos have been published in several magazines and I have three photos published in the New York Times. I was the mission photographer for the first private spaceflight
- Space Ship One, and the first ocean plastic cleanup system. I have experience shooting dozens of cameras from nearly every manufacturer. I often write camera, software and lens reviews for online sites. I am also a former employee of Apple in their advertising department.
I love teaching:
~ Photography 101, Basic Photography How To's ~ Learning How to Really Use Your Camera (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus and more) ~ How to pick and use the right lenses for the task ~ Photos for your Online Store: Table Top Photography ~ Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop ~ Photo Processing, Editing, Storage ~ Basic Portrait Lighting ~ Travel Photography including making travel books ~ Black & White Photos from your Color Photos ~ Sports Photography ~ Printing Fine Art Photos ~ Color Management ~ Mac computer setup and optimization for photography
and other topics that may be of interest to you. I especially love doing a portfolio review with you where I give you honest critique and suggestions on how to improve your existing photos and think about elevating your new photos.
I like to start with new students by talking on the phone or emailing before our first lesson to get a good sense of your experience and your goals in getting more instruction in photography. I do not charge for this initial conversation once you have registered and scheduled your first lesson package.
Three of my students have gone from amateur to professional and are selling their work.
I am married (28 years!) and I have two boys - one in high school and one graduating college. I have several students in their early teens - I love teaching them because they're so motivated and unafraid of the technology.
We can do lessons together online using Zoom - we can see each other, hear each other, share screens and I can show you step by step how to do everything we cover! Zoom conferencing is free, there's nothing to buy, so it's included in my lesson prices. My students love our online sessions - we go at your pace and answer all the questions you have. My students range in age from 11 to 80.
I am most proud of this comment from one of my students: "There is a difference between teaching and mentoring. While the terms seem similar they are distinct in their approach to the recipient. Brad is innately both with the lessons I participated in. He is a teacher and a mentor.
He taught me but he also "brought me along". On one hand, he gave me excellent raw knowledge and technique but still, on the opposite side of the coin, gave constant reality-based feedback and pushed me without hurting my enthusiasm. He told me about his successes and shortcomings "once upon a time ago" and I didn't see him as infallible as many instructors want you to, I saw him as having lived a path, scouted it, and coming back to help show me the way. He didn't just tell me where I was going wrong, he showed me, then showed me how to correct it, then guided me through the process of correcting it, then followed up. Who could ask for more than that?
Brad is the total package when it comes to instruction. I am a better photographer for having studied with him. I am also making my dreams come true as a businessman. I owe most of that to him. I look forward to my next lessons, but honestly I more so look forward to what is behind the doors he will inevitably open up for me."

Learning to use a camera is highly creative, AND highly technical. Find your balance, learn to use your strengths, and lean on the camera (or other gear) to improve every area of the art! i've been shooting for 12 years, and hired and trained with some of the great photographers around Nashville. The biggest things I've learned are about myself... That is where I specialize! I can help you understand how you shoot. Be the best you can be!
I love people! I enjoy teaching and training, listening and learning, meeting new people and discovering new things. As a Creative Director south of Nashville, I make time to work with children and adults, teaching drawing, photography, Adobe Creative Suite and other creative computer skills. I also coach soccer in Nolensville, TN. My own art reflects a passion for people, as I am primarily a portrait artist in photography as well as with pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor. I started with teaching art classes in High school, then as part of wilderness trips in the white mountains, teaching creative survival skills. I work often with youth athletics and skills training, with the children in my church, and all ages as a mentor, tutor, and coach outside of regular business hours... Lately I have been helping photographers and models build
their brand identity with pictures. - - What are your creative needs?

Daniel was outstanding and very patient. I knew a little about drawing and he took me to the next level. My art is very lifelike and realistic thanks to Daniel.

Daniel is great, he is extremely knowledgeable. He explains things in detail so that you have a thorough understanding of how Indesign works and interfaces with other programs. He is happy to answer any and all questions and moves at a good pace.
Photography is a big part of our lives these days. It's a modern way of storytelling. Let me help you tell your story better. From Beginner to Advance, I cater the lessons to your needs.
A lifelong student of Photography myself, I have made my living as a professional Photographer for nearly 10 years. In addition to Shooting I have been teaching and helping others hone their craft for the past 4 years.
Many people want instant results but photography is a process. Despite the experience level of the photographer my goal is teach something new. Be it a concept or technique at the end of the session you will be one step closer to your goals.
The session doesn't end at the end of the hour. I provide e-mail support for questions pertaining to the discussed subject matter. I do assign homework and or conduct practical lessons so I also provide feedback and critique for photographs.
I use Lightroom and Photoshop for post processing and I am able to provide ...
About Mark Onewolf
I began photographing family events at the age of 8 years old. I was always fascinated with how things work and the camera was no exception.
I learned to shoot with Film cameras. First with my Dad's Pentax and when I was employed I purchased my own. During my time in the Navy and Army I became good friends with a combat photographer who mentored me in photography. Long deployments were perfect to cultivate my skills and there was no shortage of people places and things to photograph.
So what makes me a good Instructor? My education background is Avionics and Electronics Engineering. I am a math and logic minded person which enables me to reverse engineer processes and break them down. I have experience teaching ESL to foreign exchange students which often requires me to understand the task from the perspective of the client
so that I am able to help them understand in the way they learn.
I come from a Artistic family, Music, Art, Dance, Singing etc and being a musician myself I am not just a 1's and 0 person. Photography is a very logical subject not unlike music. There are rules to bent and offers structure yet has a creative release for those of us seeking that. My clients find that I am patient and laid back and able to explain things in multiple ways until they get that ah ha moment. I am passionate about photography and I hope my enthusiasm is contagious.
As a Professional photographer I see so many bad photos from family and friends and others posting on social media and in forums. Someone took the time to show me and feed my passion so I want to do the same and help to create better photographers and hopefully better photographs.
Mark is a thoroughly knowledgeable, patient and encouraging instructor. I just completed a series of lessons with him to learn the basic elements of my new camera and settings so that I can go beyond the auto settings before embarking on a trip to Peru. I couldn't be happier with what Mark taught me. In addition to the basics of aperture, shutter and program auto modes, he provided very practical information on things like tripods, storage, programs and apps. I can't wait to take more lessons from Mark when I return from Peru!

Mark has taught me a lot of lessons in photography. Very knowledgeable in a broad range of disciplines (i.e. long exposures, head shots, weddings, street, editing, portraiture, product, and more). Covering so many categories of photography I feel gives him the ability to answer many questions that a specialized niche photographer would lack. I am a photographer and I get paid gigs, that's how good Mark is. I received my ROI 100x over. Highly recommended.

Just had a photography lesson with Mark last night. He was great. He explained everything in a clear and concise manner that I could easily understand. He also listened to what I wanted to topics that I wanted to learn and tailored his presentation to cover those topics. Thanks, Dan.

It was a real pleasure to do a Month long bachata classes with Kimmy. It was a worthwhile time investment. Kimmy is very passionate about dancing and teaching. I am grateful for the new dance skills and confidence she helped me gain!

I'm not naturally coordinated in dancing much less for paired dancing, for that reason I was apprehensive and anxious about bachata dance lessons with kimmy. At the end of the first lesson I left feeling having learnt new moves and confident about using them. Kimmy is skilled and knowledgeable about teaching dance because the pace is not rushed, she provides appropriate cues and thoughtful commendations!

I highly recommend Kimmy! She is a great teacher; she was patient, understanding, and comes prepared. I completed my first dance sessions with Kimmy and came out with a better understanding of how to dance. She instills confidence with her teaching and cares that her student gets the most out of every class.

Teacher and coach with 15 years of experience around the world. I have developed a unique understanding of the importance of teacher to student relationships to maximise the learning process and adapt it to the individual needs of the student. My passion to expand my knowledge and expertise in the photography world allow me to take an active role in the journey of skill acquisition and effectively develop lessons that push the students to rapidly take their photography to a higher level.
I have always loved the learning process and so I made it my mission to create a life of helping others to learn.
This life has mission has taken me around the world teaching various subjects in all sorts of places and my love for it grows more and more everyday.
I have seen from all my wonderful experiences that having a teacher working closely with you to guide and support you allows students to fly and achieve anything they want.
In the case of learning a language its such am individual process that immediate feedback and adaptation of the lesson is the key to quick acquisition and confidence in applying those language skills.

All levels, from absolute beginner to pro – at the convenience of your own home and at your own pace! It’s just you and me – so everything’s relevant.
As a photographer, I like to think that I’m efficient at finding the holy grail of documentary photography, the “decisive moment” – every single time. I’ve been perfecting my photojournalistic style for decades and reached the point where the skill of “blending in”, becoming ubiquitous yet invisible morphed into a habit. My working style gravitates towards documenting the natural flow of your event.
But there’s a flip side: every once in a while, merely capturing what’s in front of me just doesn’t cut it. Sometimes I have to shatter the ambience and create a peculiar mix of light and shadows, divergent colors, delivering a brand new reality. I do all this at the set, not in Photoshop – so we’re creating a reality, not faking it.
Is it possible to learn this power? Of course, that's why I'm here!

Once you've done your time-lapse photography, how should you edit it all together? Here, Pasadena, CA teacher Nathan H. shares his recommendations, plus the pros and cons of using Photoshop and Lightroom...
So you just finished your amazing time-lapse of the sky. You’ve composed your shot. You’ve made sure nothing went wrong. You’ve waited an hour for your camera to take 600 images. It was a long, painful process.
But it’s over, and now it’s time to head to some post-p …
