I'm Sandra. I've worked with thousands of photographers and designers – from beginners to the best in the business in print, online and video formats. I've helped them find their unique route to achieve their potential. I'm quick, honest, easy to understand; I inspire you, show you steps and help grow. I can help with technical issues but my focus is on helping you see more. In teaching college classes, my main student comment is, "I will never look at anything the same way again."

About Sandra
If you just want to learn software programs, go elsewhere. But if you want to learn to SEE and become a true photographer, Sandra is the person to work with. Although software and hardware are certainly part of our discussion, software and cameras don't make pictures – you, your eye, and your experience are what make your pictures different and interesting.

Every person's path toward becoming a better photographer is unique. Sandra has helped hundreds and hundreds of professional (and amateur) photographers significantly improve their photography and their enjoyment of it. Working with her, results are quick.

You will get far more out each session with Sandra than from a dozen sessions with others and you will learn more about yourself and your potential. Just bring your questions, a collection of your pictures and we start from w
here you are.

Sandra is an internationally respected picture editor and designer with a unique experience that runs from contributions to scores of visual books to editing for the White House, work on major newspapers, and the Associated Press. She was instrumental in the creation of the original ground-breaking news site MSNBC.com as well as spearheading creation of the Defense Department's public web program. She has taught photography and editing at three universities and at workshops all over the U.S. and judged multiple national and international photography competitions. But Sandra is still easy to talk to and interested in YOUR concerns and pictures.

Sandra's key skill may be her ability to articulate visual concepts and issues. She can find and convey the underlying needs in a photographer's work and then help him/her find a personal, unique route to reaching his/her potential.

Always fully honest, Sandra is also completely supportive of helping any photographer – from beginner to seasoned professional– become better, see more, and understand their own work on new levels.

Sandra can certainly help with technical matters but her special forte is in helping photographers and designers see in new ways. She has worked with documentary, landscape, fine art, portrait and other photographers as well as designers and website builders.

Group sessions and critiques can also be arranged on request for additional fees.

I wish I could give Sandra TEN stars; five are not enough. She's the best! She helped me see my pictures, and the world, in new ways. I was lucky enough to see her work with a variety of photographers, from students just starting out, to professionals who had been working in the field for years. They all had great things to say about her, and how she showed them how to improve their portfolios. Many of them went on to win contests thanks to her teaching. If you want a teacher that is easily approachable and very accessible, has a wonderful sense of humor, and will take you and your photos to a new level, do yourself a favor and contact Sandra. You'll be amazed!

Photography has been a lifelong passion for me. As my journey continues, I enjoy working with students and clients on making great images and helping them to achieve their artistic vision. I love to share the tips and tricks that I have learned along the way as both a professional photographer, but also as a teacher and as a student of light.

Experienced photographer that has worked professionally in many areas including travel, fine-art, news, and sports action. I have extensive darkroom experience in both B&W and color and have transitioned those skills to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop in the digital post-processing world. Many of my images have been printed in various publications, on many websites, and in art gallery exhibits. I teach beginner to advanced students on how to take and process great images in private tutor sessions, group lessons, and on workshop field trips. I also custom print images, and scan and retouch/restore old photographs and negatives.

About Nick
My name is Nick and I am a freelance photographer located in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. I am new to the TakeLessons platform but have many years of experience as a photographer and photography teacher.

I specialize in travel, fine art and sports action photography. I am a life-long photographer having worked for a weekly newspaper, a motorcycle racing magazine, as a wedding and event photographer, and as a sports photographer. Over the last 15 years I have photographed local town events, Middle and High School sports, college football, fund-raising events for non-profit organizations, motorcycle racing, bicycle racing, running road races, Rock ‘n Roll bands, and high school senior portraits. I am now focusing most of my time traveling around the world and making and exhibiting my photographs of the local landscapes and people. Many o
f my images have been published in newspapers, on various websites, and exhibited in many art galleries.

I enjoy teaching students how to "make" photographs, drawing from the skills and techniques that I have learned from my real-world experiences as a photographer. My students learn how to use their camera as an expression of their artistic vision. They will learn all aspects of workflow including research and preparation, camera settings, composition, post-processing, printing, and framing. The goal is for each student to create images that they would be proud to exhibit or display on their wall at home.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer, please contact me for further information, to discuss your goals and objectives for making pictures, or to schedule a session. I offer both in person and remote lessons. Thank you.

I recently made the switch from Aperture to Lightroom and Nick guided me through the whole process. His knowledge on file organization and Lightroom was incredibly helpful for me. He made the switch for me an easy one. Thanks Nick!

Amazing photos are just a click away! But how?!? If you are struggling with capturing those great moments with your family and friends or you want to learn how to take amazing portraits and start your own business, then it's time to take the first step. I will help you build your photography skills by teaching you the ins and outs of your camera and all the settings and techniques to capture amazing images while tailoring the lessons to your personal level, tastes, and goals. I'll work hands-on with you to help you capture the photos you desire in different conditions. Let's get started taking amazing photos!

About Tyler
I am a professional photographer that has been paid to photograph portraits, headshots, products, food, weddings, events, and more. I taught myself from the moment I picked up my first camera decades ago and I haven't stopped learning.

Photography students can expect to improve with every lesson. Every student has a particular style that they like and I help students to find their "eye" and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual style. I can help any student to take better photos in the first lesson.

I teach students of all different experience levels; from complete novices to experienced amateurs looking to further their knowledge of composition and lighting.

I've studied various lighting styles from standard three-point lighting, dramatic single light portraits, natural light control, and cinemat
ic styles. I can teach students to find the best light, to learn how to control it using simple methods, and get the most out of every shutter release.

As a professional photographer, I have been challenged with many challenges and can teach from my mistakes and successes. I have photographed for restaurants in major cities, taken family portraits, created amazing composite photographs for clients, photographed weddings all over, and so much more. I love to mentor students who want to become skilled photographers.

My personal passion is food and product photography but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better photographer!

As a professional artist, I have exhibited in 30 exhibitions including in Europe. I most recently worked as a photographer, artist and writer on a documentary in the American West featuring artists working to save wild horses. I also was the director of an art program in Santa Barbara that taught the arts to over 500 youth for ten years.

I am a long time teacher with a Ph.D. My dissertation was a research study looking at the value of the arts in education. I often work on projects nationally as a contributor for various non profit causes that use the arts to bring attention to various worthwhile issues.

After 25 years of teaching in many settings, including a university, an arts project, and at both private and public schools as well as giving private lessons, it has been my experience that art is a skill that anyone can learn with support. Picasso was absolutely correct when he said " Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up!"

I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from University of California at Santa
Barbara, A Master's degree in Organizational Non Profit Management and a Ph.D. in Human Development. All of my work and studies have involved art, photography and writing and often non-profit causes.

I teach students from all levels of art experience, from those who have never attempted to draw, to students who have many years experience looking to exhibit their art or make a living from it, I also teach art history in a fun way that helps you learn from painters who have created styles that help artists learn ways to improve their own work. I consider sharing my love of the arts a privilege!

I have taught many “so-called” Non- Artists to draw and paint and sculpt and have encouraged many others with art experience who are longing to further or start their art careers.

All that said, the most important thig I have to pass along is my personal LOVE of art and my commitment to encouraging others to find their own gift of creative expression! My art students do NOT need special skills or talents just a willingness to want to express themselves! Art is a funny thing, the more you enjoy it and learn it in a relaxed way, the better your actual art turns out when you make it. Hope to meet you and teach you soon!
