Art is fun and relaxing, and that's exactly how I like to teach. Whether you're a beginner, aspiring artist, or someone who's always wanted to draw, I can help you create the portfolio of your dreams. I have watched my students grow from beginners to creating some incredible works.

I specialize drawing realistically in graphite, charcoal, and pen. For beginners, I always go over the basics: shapes, shading, and strokes. We will start with simple objects such as cups and boxes, and move on to more advanced subjects, leading to your goals as an artist. I can teach how to draw from life, photo, or even from your imagination.

I can provide you with constructive critique as you progress in your work. This also helps motivate students to take a step back and objectively look at where they are now and how far they have come with their work. As a person who is constantly evolving as an artist myself, it is important to bounce ideas off of others to help you improve and get a better understanding on how to develop your own style with your art.

I enjoy the impact art of any kind has on society and others. Art can be used to communicate many things and in many different forms. Also art is subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone will love your art expression but it is important that you're passionate about your work.

I enjoy learning through interactions with others and the way they perceive their surroundings. My passion for art started when I was very young.

Currently I am the author and illustrator and designer behind a brand of children's products. My background ...

Both my girls look forward to go to her every week and learn new things related to sketching and drawing. She spends time in making the kids understand as to what she wants them to do and kids really do it well.... she is very encouraging, inspiring and active in her way of teaching art which I really admire. Am very happy to be have her as our art teacher and absolutely will recommend to all my friends. We are blessed to have you Mrs. Maggie 😇"

"I am an adult student (33) taking beginner drawing lessons with Jessica. My interest/goal is to draw realistic portraits (maybe in a few years), but with no background, I'd better start from the basics, and I am so glad to have Jessica as my teacher. Her philosophy about how to approach art alone is already teaching me so much - for example, what's the correct mindset, how to really observe a subject, how to practice drawing even when I am not drawing.

We have been working on building up foundational skills and their sequence, which gives me clear understanding on what each small step means in the long term. Based on my interest and what I knew and didn’t know, Jessica would design each lesson with a specific focus in mind, usually around practicing a certain technique. Her homework (I ask for homework since I draw slowly) also reinforces those learnings. I feel more confident with each lesson, and my progress is noticeable.

Also, she is incredibly encouraging, patient, and generous. I never feel judged or self-conscious practicing techniques in front of her (often clumsily) or showing her my new drawings. She always gives thorough feedback and encouraging words. Overall, she gives me confidence on my journey, and that is much needed for an adult student who didn’t have the chance to start when younger. Best teacher ever!"

My daughter has bloomed after joining Ms.Maggie’s class. She taught her how to apply the fundamentals of art, and incorporate the use of a variety of materials, techniques, and styles.
