Blake is a great teacher. He made me so determined to learn more and to get better in my craft. I started to become excited and always looked forward till our next lesson because I knew I would come out knowing way more than I did before. If you are unsure and/or new to this, I would 100% recommend Blake!

Blake is kind and courteous and the lessons were individualized and geared to meet my needs. Blake met my expectations in teaching the functionality of a new program, and he gave me guidance designing. The lessons are easy to schedule and cancel if necessary.

I got my first camera when I was 8 years old and have been a passionate shutterbug ever since. I can teach you how to use all of the manual features on your camera to get the effects you want to achieve, and I can help you to train your eye to see and capture memorable compositions.

Taking pictures is the first part of the journey - the second is editing them to adjust exposure, saturation, contrast, etc. I work with Photoshop and can teach you how to tune your images and fix problems like lens dust, harsh shadows, or face shine in flash pictures.

I encourage each student to find his or her personal style to express a unique vision. You don't need any experience to become an artist, just the desire to start noticing new things all around you and capturing moments to share with others!

About Sarah
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page! I have been an artist for my whole life and I am passionate about sharing my love of creativity with others. I earned an MFA in Costume Design from UCLA in 2007 and have been a freelance costume designer, college professor, photographer, illustrator, and jewelry designer.

As much as I love to create, what I really love is to help somebody learn to do something they love and create something they can be proud of! I am happy teaching all ages, and I specialize in helping each student find his or her unique vision.

I can teach sewing by hand and on a machine, including how to read and understand the instructions in commercial patterns. Bring your project and I'll help you make it happen! I am highly skilled at teaching life drawing, as well as marker rendering and watercolor fashion illustr
ation. Photography is my other passion, and I look forward to helping you understand how to use a camera's many features, and your eye, to create art.

Prior students and clients have given me 5 of 5 stars in all 51 online ratings across various websites. Students have told me they appreciate the way I simplify complex topics, such as in these reviews from prior students:

Incredibly helpful
Cindy was incredibly helpful, and really went "above and beyond" in every way. She's extremely knowledgeable and did a tremendous amount of research in order to supplement her work on this job. Saved me many, many hours of potential aggravation — I will definitely continue to rely on her for expertise with all things Lightroom/Photoshop/PostProduction for photography. Highly recommended!
- Aaron S.,

Computer Challenged student gives her 5 stars plus!
Cindy was very patient and worked well with my low computer skill level. The class was very informative and fun. I believe we hit it off right away. I can't wait for my next class.
- Hope S., Snellville, GA

Very patient.
Cindy was able to untangle my Lightroom 6 update snarl with patience and humor. She has an excellent grip on the mechanics of Lightroom and communicates well. I recommend her highly.
- Elizabeth S., Middleton, MD

Excellent
Contacted Cindy a few months ago to help me to put together a slide show, clean up my photos, To say that I'm technically inept would be a compliment. At my age (you don't want to know) just about all these new programs give me the shakes. I was using a rather basic photo program and she recommend I take a look at Adobe Lightroom. I was notified that it would look a bit intimidating and was pretty aggressive. That was an understatement. Well, it's been a couple months now and I think the Adobe LR program is absolutely terrific. I've become quite proficient and the program is so inclusive that I'm sure, despite how far I've come along, it will always be able to do what I need with the help of Cindy. She has been very responsive, knowledgeable, organized and very patient. My lessons will be ongoing (every two weeks) and will build upon a strong foundation. Highly recommend Cindy.
- Tom K., Marietta, GA

About Jason
My educational background is in journalism with a minor in English and I've always been enamored with the literary and visual arts. I published my first book featuring poetry along with photography in 2006 and have since written four more.

My photography has been published in several magazine as well including the following:

Fahrenheit USA – Nov. 2015
My Belleza Inc. – April 2016
Tres Jolie – May 2016

In 2007, I started the business called Three Rivers Creative Arts providing creative service including photography, writing, editing and graphic design.

As a person who likes the opportunity to help others and to work with all of these types of areas, I thought that a great website like this one here at TakeLessons could allow me to do both.

Jason seemed very knowledgeable about website creation in general, and using WordPress in particular. He was quite helpful by introducing me to the basics of configuring my website, pointing out some "must-dos", and suggesting key things to keep in mind as I proceed with my blog/website. I call this how to “Escape the Green Box” (get off of the Auto setting) and really use your Camera (DSLR, Mirrorless, High end Interchangeable Lens compact). I have taught over 400 students going back to 2011). These are the highest quality in depth, lessons taught one-on-one and should not be confused with quickie 2 hour overviews. I don't just tell you to "push that button" or "turn that dial", I teach you how the various camera settings impact your images. I give my lessons at my place in Palo Alto. These are private lessons - not a room full of people. About Dan
3 FOR THE PRICE OF 1 (See Below)

I’m an award winning photographer with great teaching skills who can teach you how to “Escape the Green Box” (get off of the Auto setting) and really use your camera and/or Adobe Lightroom to make and manage beautiful images. These are the highest quality and in depth, lessons taught one-on-one and should not be confused with quickie 2 hour overviews. I don't just tell you to "push that button" or "turn that dial", I teach you how the various camera settings impact your images. I give you the knowledge to fully understand, control and utilize your camera to make beautiful images matching your artistic vision.

I have a very easy going and relaxed teaching style, more like two friends chatting and having fun. But it's all about you and your needs. The first thing that sets me apart is that I listen t
o you. We then tailor your experience around what you already know, what you want to learn, what your photographic goals are and I cater to your learning style. This has been a winning formula with me for over 400 students spanning 6.5 years of private tutoring in photography, camera use and image editing.

These are private lessons - not a room full of people. My schedule is flexible but I do try to limit it to the hours of 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on all days of the week, however weekend time slots tend to fill up quicker. I've found that lessons of 2 hours each seem to work the best as it allows us to get into some depth each time but not so much at a time that it's overwhelming. If requested, I will do shorter or longer sessions. I have a 2 hr. minimum for the first session so book two back-to-back sessions for the first session. Lessons longer or shorter than 2 hours on weekends can only be confirmed a day or two ahead of time.

If you sign up for lessons, you can bring 1 or 2 guests (family, friends, co-workers, etc.) who can fully participate in the lesson at no charge, In other words, up to 3 for the price of 1. Just let me know in advance.

Although I consider myself an organized person, after 3 months using Lightroom I had complete chaos on my computer. It seemed I had 4 catalogs, Images I knew I had were no where to be found and I seemed to have other images in 3 or more places. It as a mess and I know there must be a better way.

I found Dan on the internet (Yelp and Craigslist), scheduled a 2 hour session with and brought over my laptop. Dan was wonderful. He listened intently to my problems. He asked me about my workflow and things that I never thought of like how many cameras will be taking photos which will all be put in Lightroom. He then mapped out where my images were on my laptop as well as my catalogs (turned out I didn't have 4 I actually had 6 - there were 2 I didn't know about.

He then proposed an image storage file structure and naming pattern, showed me how to merge information to get down to one catalog, get rid of duplicates and add missing images. He walked me through each process several times till I felt comfortable doing the rest on my own at home.

It was so great that i came back 2 more times to get info on keywording, collections and on the 3rd session we went through the magic of the Develop module where we took some ho hum images I took at Yosemite and he showed me with a few slider moves who to make them worthy of hanging in the living room.

Later, when I got stuck he helped me out through email at no charge.

Dan's style is laid back but articulate. He talks in lay terms and works at your pace. I really can't tell you how happy I was with his style and the depth of knowledge he has in the product.

I started as a professional photographer when I was 16. Since then so many things changed, we move from film to digital, now our darkroom is digital, we have amazing cameras on our cellphones. We can work together on photography concepts which will help you to became a great photographer. You'll understand how to get the most of the equipment you already have. How to invest on things you'll really need, saving you a lot of time and money. Understand how lenses and lighting are the most important tools for a photographer. And of course you'll learn the whole digital workflow, so you can work faster and better, having effective backups plans.

About Fabio
I'm a published author on photography and video production magazines and honored professor at major Brazil universities, teaching video production. My passion for teaching and tutoring involves the Brazilian Portuguese and Technology. I lived in Rio de Janeiro for more than 30 years and worked with several companies on translation projects for the Brazilian market. I'm sure I'll be able to offer you the best tutoring on Portuguese for business and travel, and everything you need to be an excellent photographer and videographer.

I'm a Mac specialist since 2000, with daily use of editing software such Lightroom since it's first version.

Being a photographer since 14, video production was a natural parallel art, which I embraced in 1980.

I really know how to transmit all knowledge I have, which is based on decades of work (photo an
d video), and years living in Brazil. I'm very didactic and I invite you to have the best learning experience taught by a passionate professional.

Our son Christopher has been passionate about art and illustration his entire life but with traditional art instruction had become incredibly critical of his inability to duplicate exactly what other instructors required of him. In that regard meeting Tim Long has been one of the biggest blessings for us. Tim has helped to re-build a foundation for a lifelong relationship with art. His teaching methods are creative, engaging and unlike traditional art instructors rather than coax or box-in a child's imagination he provides the freedom to explore artistic expression based on our sons perception of art. Christopher has begun to experience illustration on a completely different level thanks to Tim, learning that trial and error and problem solving are part of the process and over the past few months it has been a joy to see the artist in him blossom again!
