I just recently started with Dee. She is doing a great job of helping me realistically assess my performance, and constructively set goals to improve the aspects that need work. It's been fun and very helpful.

Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Experienced and enthusiastic violin teacher of almost ten years looking for students! Lessons are tailored to each student’s interests and learning style, while also developing a solid technical basis. Beginning students start out generally with the Strictly Strings method books and are supplemented by chosen songs as they progress. Most important to lessons is for the students to feel their forward momentum and enthusiasm for learning!

About Jessica
Expect fun and relaxed lessons with an emphasis from the beginning of establishing a love and appreciation for music while developing and polishing technique!

Hello! My name is Jessi H. and I received a Bachelor’s of Art in Music from Bryn Mawr College and a Master’s of Music in Theory and Composition from the University of New Mexico. Playing with other people is a great joy and throughout my schooling and afterward, I have performed in in orchestras, chamber ensembles, pit ensembles, and in collaborations with artists in other mediums. I began teaching violin lessons during my undergraduate degree and have maintained a private studio since then, which has been full of a wide variety of students and has branched out to theory and composition.

My intention in the first few weeks of lessons is to identify the goals of each studen
t and how best they learn. While familiar with most teaching methods, I prefer to modify my style of teaching to what is effective for each student. If the student is motivated by what we are playing, then skills grow exponentially faster. Students are encouraged to perform in spring and winter recitals to showcase their progress.

After three to six months, my students can expect to have a solid foundation in the subject they are studying, a start on the repertoire or subjects of their choice, and motivation to keep going!

My early childhood music education focuses the student through immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each student's development and ability to imitate examples and internalize principles. Regular consistent practice is required and parent involvement is encouraged for younger students. Reviewing material, position, intonation, and bow techniques to always make a beautiful sound is of primary importance.

Ahhhh....the seeet sound of the violin! I began teaching violin as part of a PTSA after school enrichment program. I taught for two years to high cap children from 2nd grade up to the 5th grade.

Our studies included theory, intonation, bow technique and rhythm.

I then began teaching privately to students and have enjoyed that for the last four years. I customize the lessons according to the student’s own apptitude.

I encourage participation in recitals to help build cinfidence and encourage personal growth. I do respect a students decline and we find other ways for self-confidence.

The best part of teaching is watching a student grow in their capabilities.

About Tudi
Tudi Campbell is a classically trained cellist and violinist, and customizes lessons to meet the needs of each student. She teaches beginning to intermediate on both cello and violin for all ages. Tudi believes in providing a strong background of music theory, intonation, and aiding the student in music notation. Tudi believes in building a solid foundation to assist students with performance skills.

Tudi believes that the cello and violin are for everyone, not just those interested in a professional career. She emphasizes the student's personal “voice” and style. Tudi believes in allowing the student to take part in choosing their own musical path. Tudi aims to make music as fun as possible while helping the student to mature in the skill of playing the cello or violin.

Tudi currently performs with the Evergreen Community Orche
stra under the direction of Dr. Marcin Paczkowski. Tudi also enjoys gardening, kayaking, sewing and reading.

I have been studying and playing the violin for 20 years. I have a bachelor's degree in music performance and am currently in the process of completing a master's degree in music performance as well. I have 10 years of experience teaching individual and group lessons, as well as experience coaching string chamber groups. I also play professionally in local orchestral and chamber settings.
My teaching style has a heavy focus on accommodating the specific needs of the student by drawing on a variety of musical resources. I believe that every student has unique strengths and interests relevant to studying music. Therefore, I make it a priority to design lessons around the individual needs and goals of the student, and do not believe that there is only one way to approach teaching the violin.
All ages and abilities welcome!

About Therese
Therese is a professional violinist originally from New Jersey. She received her bachelor's degree in music performance from The College of New Jersey, and is completing her master's in music performance at The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, where she is concertmaster of the Dana Symphony Orchestra.
She has been studying classical violin repertoire for 20 years, but also enjoys playing contemporary music from various genres.
She is an active chamber musician and currently plays in a string quartet and trio. While her training is in the classical tradition, she enjoys working with students who want to learn how to play music from other genres as well.

Therese has experience working with students of all levels of ability, including students with developmental disabilities. She has been teaching privately for 10 ye
ars, including one-on-one lessons, group lessons, and chamber group coaching.

I took my first music lesson at age 67. I hate learning how to do things; I am easily frustrated. Jodi made me feel relaxed and secure from the first meeting. I enjoy both lessons and practice. She makes herself available for questions in between my weekly lessons and has even come to me to correct a problem with a string.
For me, she's the best imaginable teacher.
