I teach violin at the New School for Leadership and the Arts, mostly to novice players, and I have experience teaching violin to children of all ages.

My primary instrument is guitar, which I've played for about 25 years in many different bands, styles, and genres. I studied music and classical guitar at University of Central Florida, and during that time I also helped teach violin to a class of third graders. I'm not a pro violinist, but I have plenty of experience working with novice players, helping them develop proper technique, sight reading, ear training, and other skills needed to advance to the next level.

About Gio

I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums. I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is wh

I have a lot of experience with the Suzuki method as a teacher and also a player having started with that myself. However unless the player or parent specifies that they want strict Suzuki, I go with my method which involves Suzuki but also other methods. I was not strict Suzuki and it definitely worked for me as well as students of mine!

I will make a structured class, that will teach anyone how to read sheet music and how to turn notes into works of art. Many things will be repetitive however that is the only way to get better as time progresses, I will find ways to adapt these moments of repetition into a joy for learning and an appreciation for classical music. I also don't teach everyone the same I am very adaptable to each person and find ways for each individual to learn with joy and passion, on this journey to musical excellence.

About David

I have been playing violin for about 8 year, I have experience in playing for chamber orchestras, string quartets, and I was concert master for my high school orchestra. My goal is to help beginners appreciate the hard work and practice in music and learning a new skill, that can be a joy for onese

Learning to play an instrument is 90% student and 10% teacher. Your improvement is primarily based on how attentive you are and the time you put into practice. My ultimate job is to teach you to become your own teacher, to understand and grasp technical and musical objectives to the point of artistic independence.
Whether your goal is to simply try something new or become a pro, my approach is the same, and that is to help you become the best musician you can be and understand the power and incredible depth of music.

About Jordan

I received my undergraduate degree in violin performance from The Juilliard School, also currently finishing my last year of graduate studies there under Li Lin and Naoko Tanaka. I previously attended the Juilliard Pre-college from 2010-14 as a student of the late Stephen Clapp. I performed regular

I love playing and teaching violin and can't wait to share my passion with you!

I tailor my approach to each student. Some students require more technical work, some require interpretive. Both are fascinating and can be taught with structure and clarity.

"Becki has taught violin to my nieces and nephew for many years and they are all exceptional musicians as a result. While a beginning adult student, I got a few words of advice about my playing from Becki at an informal musical event which we both attended. I was smitten. The instruction she shared was exquisite! I immediately understood what a great teacher is. When I said that I wished that I lived closer so that I too could study with her, she responded, "We could do it over Skype!" And so we do. I've been studying Suzuki violin with her since. I'm so grateful that the technology is available to us to make this possible."

"I had such a wonderful experience with Tania as my violin teacher. I minored in music at Florida State University and was lucky enough to be her violin student for two years (August 2013-May 2015). Tania was extremely patient and encouraging, and was very skilled in teaching me how to balance focus on technical details as well as on the "bigger picture" of emotion and musicality. In my opinion and experience, Tania's greatest strength as a teacher is being very adaptable to her students' needs. When I was preparing for an important audition, her expectations and demands were where they needed to be in order for me to succeed. Months later, when I was approaching exams and graduation, she recognized that practicing every day was not my priority at that time, and she adjusted her teaching style so that I could still improve and use music as a constructive and creative outlet during those stressful times so that I could excel in my examinations.

From lesson to lesson (and in-between!), she succeeded in her best efforts in connecting with me not only as my teacher and as a fellow musician, but also as a fellow human being, pushing me to fulfill my potential in each and all of these areas. I highly recommend her as a teacher!"
