I have been a performing artist since the age of 9. Over the years, I have worked under dozens of production companies for film and stage. As world-renowned author, Malcolm Gladwell, states in his book: "Outliers," it takes 10,000 hours of experience to be considered an expert of any field. After hitting that mark around Christmas 2012, I began to write a curriculum and had my first student a few weeks later.
To give you an idea of my general class structure, it is typically a balance of the following:
Arts Business Analysis,
Further Character Development,
and Method Discovery
I pull from a wide array of past learning experiences, (from the academy, to the set/stage/studio, to my personal library), to produce the best exercise technique for each individual student's uniquely-structured learning path in the art and craft of Acting.
We will study personal development, (how to prepare your slate for each new story), practice character and script analysis, (breaking down each new character and story to their fundamental cores), grow an understanding for set/stage/studio performance and the history behind it, in addition to soaking up a knack for monetizing your growth in the entertainment industry.
I mentioned something before called "Method Discovery." Stanislavski is the Godfather of our modern technique. We have his Method, plus Meisner, Alexander, Strasberg, Adler, Hagen, Chekhov and Practical Aesthetics techniques leading our practice. In my class, you will learn how to master these individually and be able to harness them together, while even developing your own method, (from audition to premier).
In addition to the basics: audition technique, improv, classical training, cold reading, etc., we will also go over the following:
- Eight Industry Map Pit-Stops
- "Holy Trinity" of the Mindset
- Golden Box of References
- Industry To-Do List & Network Study
- Master Class Note & Practice
...and much, much more. Contact me through the "Ask Tyler a Question" or "Message Me!" button for additional Info.

My 11 year old son is already a working actor, but we needed someone to iron out the "rough spots" and give him some extra coaching. Since we don't live near LA, we first started working with Tyler because he was local. He is fantastic! My son just loves him, and they connect really well. When he had an audition for a lead part in a movie, Tyler took the time outside of our normal schedule for some one on one time at the last minute. He is always friendly, professional, and always flexible with our schedule. My son did not get that part, but he auditioned for a tv pilot a few weeks later. He didn't get the part he auditioned for, but he made such an impression on the director, they actually created a special rolel for just for him. We owe some of this to Tyler, he really knows how to bring out the best in your kid. Also, his fees are reasonable. You won't be disappointed!Show More
The first lesson was a great experience!!! 👍👍
The first lesson was amazing. I am glad I chose Tyler as my voice acting instructor. Very informed and keeps my daughter interested!
Awesome first lesson, Tyler is very knowledgable in acting to even include the history. Looking forward to our second lesson!
Just getting started but very happy and excited.
I was very pleased with the information Tyler shared with me. I'm so excited and looking forward to taking more lessons.
He was very knowledgeable. He knows his craft and has helped me excel. Recommend!
Tyler is the first teacher to ever actually give every minute you pay for. Even if I was a few minutes late, he would stay late to cover the lost time. And when I decided to quit training with him to pursue studio work in my area, he supported me completely. He genuinely only wants what is best for his students. Thanks for all of the awesome work, coach! Hugs from Missouri...Show More
My 10yr old had a great first experience with Tyler! She thought he was kind and knowledgeable. She is excited about his suggestions to prep for her next lesson by looking at every day things in an improv way...
I was skeptical, I'll admit. It's weird to buy service from an unknown online source and pray it goes through. And online classes? Weird. BUT! So far, this course has been amaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!! Tyler is an incredible human being and his talent is through the roof. I am SO happy to have taken the chance and found him. He helped me book my first few jobs as a professional actor and model, while I was busy getting my management in order. Book this guy!Show More
Tyler is a great teacher. He genuinely cares about his students and it shows through his work ethic and business focus. He charges like a marketing champ. His focus is on your education, not the money he makes. I sometimes have a hard time following him, but that's almost entirely because his brain runs 10x faster than mine. Thanks for the work, coach!Show More
I have tried online lessons in the past and they haven't worked out the best. I have not yet needed to work with Tyler online, but I'm sure he would be great! I take his In-Studio lessons and appreciate having a true teacher in-person. He knows everything there is to know about the craft/art of Acting, including the business behind it. If you want to polish your skills as a performer and learn how to master the entertainment industry, this is the teach for you! I'm proud to be a student of The Method Center ((((((:Show More
My kids have a passion for theatre. They did CYT with Tyler a few years back and missed him when he graduated! Now they get to be back and studying with him as his students! He is a very kind young man and always means business.
(And he's a great actor too! ;) I highly recommend him!
Step it up, NYFA! Haha I'm just kidding. But seriously... Like a couple of Tyler's students, I was a class-mate of his at the New York Film Academy. Well, I was a "program-mate," rather. He was a few levels ahead of me. But when I requested training with him and wanted to see his educational background, he whipped out this scroll-long-seeming beauty of a resume and WOW. He sure knows how to use his time wisely. This guy is a GENIUS! And, as I found out, was the youngest kid at the #1 film academy in the world... Who was also offered a scholarship, work/study, directing job, award-winners' mentorship, other promotional opportunities, and yada-yada. Anyway, he is a good friend of mine and has done a lot to improve my craft. Thanks so much, man. Keep it up!Show More
Awesome teacher! I did online, in-person and at-home classes. All worked very well and were each just as efficient as the other. I have had a very fun experience and my craft as grown so much! Thanks TYLER :D
He's just so fantastic. I'm earning an MFA from NYU and have been dying to start working on voiceovers for years. I found a few nice studios around where I am living, but none as focused and dedicated to my learning experience as Tyler. I will be training with him for a while ((((:Show More
Tyler's coach was a top student of Master Stella Adler, who was the only American Acting Master to train directly under Constantin Stanislavsky. Stanislavsky was the creator of The Method [Acting] and is KING of modern acting. Craft knowledge base does not get more grounded and serious than where Tyler's coming from. I am very happy to have found him. I just to his area from LA and we have been working together ever since. Fantastic teacher!!Show More
Really great class. Good price for it too! I have been going for a few months now and I like it a lot
Sweeeeeet coach. Worth every penny because he works every minute. Doesn't waste time and is always working his training to be just right for you. Awesome guy.
Ya, not a lot of people who call themselves "acting coaches/teachers" actually know what they're talking about. People say acting is "professional pretending" or "all about having fun and expressing yourself"... No, no its not. I have had the pleasure of training with AND under this fine young man. He lives, breathe, sweats and bleeds this art. He isn't kidding when he said he has almost 15k hours of legitimate experience. I was around for a lot of it. I bug him all of the time about raising his prices and he claims he will soon. GOOD. Tyler is a professional and true expert acting coach. He knows his stuff and puts it into practice as an actual working artist. Two thumbs up, bro!Show More
Best teacher. His prices are great and I have seen a strong improvement in my son's performance ability. I recommend him to ALL new beginning, young actors and actresses...
We love him! My two daughters both train with Tyler and have an incredible time. He comes from a huge family and is very good with kids :) I have recommended him very highly to many friends. Also, I would suggest the 12 lesson package. (Cheapest option!)
Great Prices. Great Business. Great Coach. Great Guy. Tyler really knows his stuff and has a talent for building a passion in the hearts of the kids he works with. My son has had an awesome time with him.
The first lesson was super relaxed. Vary basic, let's-get-to-know-you, type stuff. We read a few monologues, did some script analysis and set-up a lesson plan. He asks good questions and also had good answers for mine. Tyler has strong leadership and teaching abilities that flow naturally. You can tell this is what he does best and that he probably does is better than a lot of people who also try to. I've been studying various forms of arts for the last decade or so, and I can honestly say that classes with him have been the most beneficial as far as performing arts goes. We've been working together for almost a year now and I am very excited for the next season :DShow More
STRONG FOUNDATION! Proudly powerful in the craft, you could say. I like his NYFA stories and how he relays teachings from masters through his courses. I'm a videographer and his help in understanding performers is great. I have always wanted to study voiceover/radio work and this has been an awesome experience, so far...Show More
Never have a found an acting teacher so knowledgeable and dedicated to the art. He has a passion for delivering accurate, grounded, inspirational and powerful direction in the rehearsal room. He is a ton of fun, great with group classes and shows a love for each student as an individual. Highly recommend.Show More
Tyler has been an incredible teacher and motivator. His knowledge and passion for the arts resonates with his every word. He is very patient and understanding and a blast to work with!
I took stage performance and speaking voice as double concentrations from Tyler over this past summer. I accepted a big promotion in the office and, to be frank, the thought of management was daunting. I am a timid introvert at heart, and this young man was a huge help for the short time we able to work together. I have recommended him to other coworkers.Show More
8 months now! Awesome teacher. Not a minute of dollar wasted...
Why aren't 10 Stars an option? I was new to Shakespeare and Ty was a great aid in my beginning steps. I currently work with Shakespeare in the Vines and the Independent Shakespeare Co. in Los Angeles and owe him a great thanks.
Oh lawrdy... Where do I begin. Okay, SO I have been a professional performing artist for 20+ years... I have twin boys who really, REALLY wanted to take acting lessons in their area. They live with their mother and I am in LA, so I wasn't going to be able to teach them.
After some research, I found Tyler. And may I just say, THANK GOD that their are still "acting teachers" out their who know what they're talking about. In this day and age, anyone can call themselves an artist or art coach. You see that a lot with singers/dancers, comedians, film artists or musical theater performers who think they know what acting truly is and can teach it. If any prospective teacher claims acting is pretending, or that its all about fun, or that you just have to be/express yourself to be successful, etc... RUN AWAY. They probably have no real education behind it and are a waste of your time and money. This guy is the real deal and I hope I have the pleasure of working with him someday. One Million Thumbs UP!!!
I went to the New York Film Academy with Tyler and was accepted into a class a few levels below him. He was in the top class on a huge scholarship, obvs, and spent a great deal of time with the top faculty and studio guests we had visit our campus. Tyler began teaching me in addition to my work with NYFA and honestly helped me grow at a better, faster rate. Granted, the Academy classes were all group classes. He's a great friend and will be a red carpet regular some day. Very proud to know him and to have been taught by him!Show More
Great teacher and excellent motivator. I have been taking lessons for a few weeks now and am very pleased with Tyler's work.
I was looking into comedy training for a while. I live in the Riverside area, so I was too far to commute to LA or train with Tyler in Temecula. I didn't realize when I purchased my first lesson that each subject would be included in his Acing class. I had the option of choosing stand-up as a concentration and it went really well.
Great first experience with a coach who laid a great foundation for me. Since, I have found a coach near me, but I am very happy with my whole experience with Tyler.
I have been taking lessons from Tyler for a little over two yrs now, on and off. I have seen students come and go, mostly because they moved away. He's such a grounded, inspired and forward coach. Since I began lessons with him, I have worked in San Diego and LA film/theatre many times. I just turned 18 and am moving to Valencia, CA in September to attend CalArts on a partial scholarship. He has walked me through the ins and outs, around every corner of this business and craft. I've trained with a few other coaches in the LA area, and would still recommend Tyler the highest. Awesome person, incredible teacher.Show More
There. Is. NO. ONE. More. Passionate... This guy is a freaking genius! My son and I both take lessons from him. I feel bad that I hadn't posted a review earlier. Tyler's education history is extensive and so much fun to hear about. He was taught by Academy Award Winners, International Experts, and students of the Acting Masters: Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, and even Lee Strasberg! I am so stoked to continue working with him, and I would recommend him to any one looking for a talented, passionate, knowledgeable, dedicated, patient and driven teacher. Because he is all of those things and much more.
The best part, (aside from the art)? His PRICES. I randomly asked him one day why he charged to little, especially because his agent takes a good chunk of it and he has an assistant to pay. He told me something alongg the lines of: "If I could afford to teach for free, I would. Seeing the development in the ability and heart of each student is is pay enough. I just gotta pay the bills so I can continue to even do this." Like, okay... He lives and breathes this. On average, he told me, he spends about 3-6 hours a day, just studying. He also performs and teaches on a regular basis. Like, how... Anyway, I am beyond blessed to have the chance to work with this kid. He's a great person with a huge heart and a very open mind. Anything you want to improve on as an artist, he'll make it happen!
I have been taking acting lessons from Tyler for about 10 months now. He is so knowledgeable about the craft, and he is an incredible teacher and communicator. Without a doubt, you can tell that this is his passion in life, and it is so refreshing to study under someone so dedicated to what they do. I always knew I wanted to learn acting but I have always been scared to take lessons (I can be very shy at times), but Tyler has been so patient and has made me feel so comfortable. Worth every penny!! I highly recommend taking acting lessons from Tyler.Show More
I paid Tyler Shadle to teach my granddaughter acting for several weeks and she made great strides in her acting ability and her confidence. I highly recommend him.
Tyler taught my 6yr old daughter last summer and she loved her lessons! She is begging for lessons again!
