Drums with Tom H.

I've been playing and teaching professionally for over 30 years. I received my undergraduate degree in jazz performance at Northern Illinois University, where I played in the NIU Jazz Ensemble and accompanied many jazz legends for three years, before doing graduate work at DePaul University and taking residence in the Chicago area. I've performed, recorded and toured extensively with many artists, such as Howard Levy, Kenny Werner, Patricia Barber, Fred Simon, Heather Headley, Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan Band and many others. I've done extensive studio work, including film scores, TV/radio commercials and record dates, and I've also found a home in Broadway-style pit orchestras, performing on Chicago-based productions of "The Lion King", "Shrek", "Dirty Dancing", "Beautiful" and others. I was selected in 2016 to play drums in Chicago's production of "Hamilton". I taught for 13 years at Columbia College Chicago and have a strong passion for helping students in the learning process. I enjoy working with people on a 1-on-1 basis, and I greatly look forward to hopefully working with you!
