Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. Qualities that make me stand out as a teacher are relatability, patience, and an ability to identify the proper pace for the student to enjoy the learning process. The styles I teach in guitar are pop, rock, jazz, country, blues, hop hop, and R&B. Acoustic, electric, and Ukulele. I also taught many beginner piano, drums, and vocals students.

Taught at the basic level very well. If you know nothing about music or guitar Tommy's your guy. Goes through all the simple steps at an even pace making the entire experience relaxing. From there giving you the knowledge of your scales and blues scales, teaching you how to make mini solos on the spot really helps out with the musicality of it all. 10/5

Tommy has provided music lessons to both of my children for the past 3 years. He is a very nurturing and patient teacher. Both my children enjoy having music time with Mr. Drinkard.

I am a 30 year old software engineer that wanted to start learning guitar as my 2016 new year's resolution. Heard about Tommy through a friend and I've been taking consistent lessons ever since and progressed a lot. He is knowledgeable, patient, and just a genuinely good/funny guy to be around.
