I am a professional percussionist from the New York City Area. I graduated from the New School with a Bachelors in Percussion Performance and a Master Degree in Percussion Performance from DePaul University. As someone who has studied percussion for the past 20 years, all drum students can expect to get a well rounded and well informed technical approach to drumming, as well as a place to express their inner musicality. Having trained with some of the best percussionists in the country I can offer expert instruction on a wide array of percussion instruments. As a performer I have played with high level orchestral groups through out the United States including the MET Opera, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Albany Symphony, West Virginia Symphony among many others. As a teacher I take that experience that I have playing with those groups and utilize it to help my students perform music with others regardless of genre or style. I also have spent a lot of time researching, thinking and utilizing skills in audition preparation and practice techniques. I am well versed in the literature of Deliberate Practice having worked on these concepts with Jason Haaheim of the MET Orchestra and would be happy to coach you in these techniques. My personal passion is orchestral music and timpani specifically but I firmly believe that I can provide the foundation of great technique and musicality that will translate to any style.
