Biology with Stephen P.

I am a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Washington University in St. Louis with over 15 years of hands on bench work and over 20 publications. My undergraduate degree in Biology is from Duke University (with a certificate in Marine Biology) and just for good measure, I also have an MBA from Rice University. I have conducted research at Harvard University, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Virginia. I am experienced with most laboratory techniques in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic manipulation and animal analysis. I have been told that I can explain complex scientific principles so that even the least knowledgeable layperson can understand them, while not being overly condescending. If I can't get you to understand the concept with which I am an expert, I will keep explaining after the agreed upon session expires without charge (within reason). I have worked on animal models of human genetic diseases for most of my career, so I can apply all of the concepts you are trying to grasp to relevant diseases to make them more understandable and relatable to you. I have also been told that I use pretty good analogies to make more abstract and esoteric concepts more easily understood. Look forward to working with you. SJP
