Music has been a golden thread running through my entire life. I started teaching while I was a college student, and had the privilege of accompanying many soloists. After my college graduation, I taught second and third grades. From there I advanced to teaching piano and running a Yamaha Music School. I played for weddings, fashion shows and accompanied high school choirs. I am a church pianist and adjudicate piano festivals and the Certificate of Merit program. I am drawn to discover innovative teaching methods and successful practice strategies to encourage the average player to continue. Customizing lessons for each student is a priority and therefore I provide instruction in Classical, some jazz and pop music. I am determined to develop the full potential of each pianist. I specialize in working with young students, giving kids the skills they will have their entire lives. I’m a piano teacher who makes piano fun through monthly piano parties.

As an adult beginner, I was more than a little nervous about taking lessons. It is something I always wanted to do, but I never thought I would find a teacher who could help me understand music. Sharon is so patient and encouraging...even the slightest improvement is encouraged. Sharon also encourages creativity and experimenting with the music...that takes away the fear factor. I always feel challenged, but not frustrated. I LOVE it! I

My son is now 9 years old and started at 8 with Sharon. He has developed a love with music that he never had before which we attibute to Sharon's gentle ways of teaching which challenges him to really push himself to betterment. Watching her teach him is like watching her read music and knowing just the right way to push the keys to get the best music out of that instrument. It really is a joy to watch my son blosssom with the help of such a wonderful teacher.

Our son has been receiving piano lessons from Sharon since he was 7 years old. He is now 16 and has been enrolled in a performing arts school for 2 years. It is through Sharon's love to teach that our son has achieved the heights he has. Over the years she has graduated so many of her students on to greater achievements. Sharon is a dedicated teacher that has a knack of reaching children and teaching them that their music can be fun. We think of Sharon as family and would highly recommend her program for all wishing to learn piano.
