I am a sophomore student at Florida State University. I study saxophone performance and composition and have been involved in the Symphonic band for 3 semesters. I am extremely flexible to any student's learning style. I will offer positive reinforcement and constructive criticism where necessary, while making sure that it is never a negative environment. I am able to pass down knowledge in classical and jazz music for the saxophone, and will provide repertoire, etudes, worksheets and exercises for any student. The curriculum I offer will be flexible to the speed and nature of the student who is studying, however I always like to leave a foundation with the basics while allowing for students to see the fun in the instrument. A typical lesson will begin with a review of the previous lessons, questions about practicing habits and time spent in ensembles at school. Then we will spend the first part of the lesson working on fundamentals, typically on sound and technique. Then we will work on music that is fun to play while making the student more proficient. I teach all types of students, specializing in beginners and intermediate players. I can come to your home or provide a space to work in at FSU's college of music, with help getting free parking for the lesson. I invite parents to stay with their child or go do errands or relax and watch TV! I also can use the TakeLessons online service of lessons at almost any time of day, even if you felt like a 3am jam session was what your weekend needed! Music is something I believe is incredibly useful for anyone to apply to their lives and would love to do my part in helping you reach your goals. I look forward to hearing from you and learning about everything you want to become as a musician!
