Hi, my name is Nolen Smith! I started learning guitar in 2009 while I was in middle school. While I took piano lessons as a child, I found my passion for making music when I picked up the guitar! For about a decade, I have performed regularly in a church context playing contemporary worship music. I have a bachelor's degree in worship leadership and am currently on staff at a church. I have significant experience in contemporary vocal technique, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, audio engineering, music theory, and songwriting. While proper technique and theory are important, I believe enjoyment is the key to learning an instrument, so I focus on a quick on-ramp so students can start having fun while learning technique and theory as they go.
