    About Noah S.

Yo! I'm a professional drummer with over 12 years of experience performing, recording, and teaching. I am a full time musician in the San Diego and Los Angeles area. It's all I do! I've shared the stage with and learned from many of the industry's top professionals, including Jacob Szekely (Rush), Tyler Carrol (Jonas Brothers, Allen Stone), Kevin Cooper (Ike and Tina Turner, Broadway), Dave Elitch (M83, Miley Cyrus), and many more. I work with all skill levels, and no matter where you are on your musical journey, I have something to offer you. If you're a beginner, my goal is to immediately get you started out on the right foot. There is a wealth of misinformation out there about drumming, so it's super important to find a teacher that knows what they're talking about. This means immediately focusing on technique so that you feel comfortable behind the kit. Your body will thank you in the long run, and you'll sound and look better too. If you're intermediate or advanced, don't be surprised if I ask you to unlearn most of what you've picked up over time. Most people are working way too hard behind the kit, so my first course of action with any student is to make sure everything is ergonomically solid. Once the body mechanics are on point, you'll be flowing more than you ever thought possible. I've gotten work as a drummer by focusing on groove and developing my pocket. "Pocket" is a topic that was never explained to me by teachers, but absolutely should have been one of the first focuses. Drums are all about feel. If it doesn't feel good, it doesn't sound good. As a drummer, you have the power to make people dance, and with that power comes great responsibility. You'll be grooving like a pro in no time, no matter your skill level.
