The world of the saxophone is dynamic, fluid, and awesome to behold! As a teacher, it is my prime objective to identify the needs, goals, and learning style of a student in order to achieve the most superb result for each and every student. Studying with me will take you far beyond the nuts, bolts, and fundamentals of saxophone performance—though these indispensable things will be covered—into realms of harmony, melody, rhythm, and even the more sublime, ineffable, and elusive qualities that music has to offer. There are no limits to what we can learn together. When you study with me, your own imagination provides the only limit to what is possible to achieve!

Teaching since:

I've toured the world and lived to tell the tale!

Being on the road can be arduous and taxing, but it is the adventure of a lifetime. I've done it all, from roughing it up and down the eastern seaboard in a minivan with the Indie Rock band Busman's Holiday, to playing big stages in Botswana, South Africa, and the United Kingdom with Zimbabwean music legend Thomas Mapfumo and his band Blacks Unlimited. I even got my sea legs performing in the orchestra aboard the Island Princess and the Grand Princess cruise liners! The cruise ships sent me around the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic, through the Carribbean to Colombia, along the Panama Canal, up the coast of Mexico, and finally dodging icebergs on the Alaskan Coastline! And last but not least, I got the chance to play cutting-edge jazz at festivals in Taiwan and China.

As a friend of mine once said, "Your horn is a magic wand. Just point it the direction you want to go, and it will take you there!" Truer words were ne'er spoken. If you want your music to take you places, studying with me is a great place to start.

Come join the music, and let's go places!
