Drums with Michael G.

I started playing drums at ten years old and came up through the indie music scene in the Bay Area playing in bands in high school. My teacher was adamant about the value of learning different styles, which is something that stuck with me through my years earning an AA in Drum Performance and then a Bachelors of Music from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. Going to college for music not only gave me plenty of experience playing with some of the best musicians in the world, but it allowed me to explore Jazz, Latin, Funk, Blues, and a number of other styles with much more depth than I could have otherwise. Along the way I also learned music theory and audio production, taught myself guitar, and learned to write songs. I'm a big believer in developing multiple skills as a musician and teach all of aforementioned things in my lessons. I not only gig as a drummer, but as a guitarist and singer. I also write, arrange, and produce my own music as well.
