Whether you aspire to being a front-person, background singer or just for fun, proper singing techniques will improve your vocal quality, stamina, tone, pitch, timing, dynamics and overall ability.

You don't need to have a "great voice" to be a great singer (having a great voice is a highly subjective term - Louie Armstrong, Willie Nelson, Geddy Lee, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and many others are examples of great singers whose distinctive voices don't fall into popular conceptions of "great voices"), but you do have to sing on key, exercise dynamics, understand rhythm and phrasing, know your range, sonic limitations and so much more.

You'll learn vocal health, breathing, posture, warm-up exercises, intervals, harmony, scales, tone, dynamics, inflection, phrasing, timing, microphone technique, helpful tips on mic selection, monitors, effects, EQ-ing your voice and more.

About Matt M.

Matt M has recorded and performed with his own groups and a number of top artists - from Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Steve Vai Band and Van Halen to Extreme, Aerosmith's Joe Perry Project, Journey's Steve Perry and others.

Beginner to advanced students are welcome, as are professionals desiring a fresh perspective. Guitar is my primary instrument, but also play and teach ukulele, bass, mandolin, tenor and 5-string banjo. Preferred venue for lessons is at my home in Wakefield RI, but will consider travel to your home or business within a 10-mile radius if schedule permits. Online Skype lessons are also available.

I also offer multiple-session courses and single-session micro-courses in other practical areas of interest - music marketing, promoting on the web and social media, merchandising, music theory, music business basics, home studio recording, copyright law, songwriting, music licensing, instrument maintenance, basic field repair, music performance tips and other topics. Drop me a line with your request.

Lessons are administered in a comfortable, patient and enjoyable manner, providing necessary skills and knowledge to help reach your playing goals.

Thanks for your time and attention and I'll be happy to answer any questions!
