About Matt C.
Matt Coyle is a performer, composer, and educator located in Richmond, Virginia. Matt completed a Bachelor of Music degree and received a K-12 teaching certificate while at James Madison University, and completed a Master of Music degree at the University of Northern Colorado. He has studied percussion, drum set, and piano under Bill Rice, Marlon Foster, Michael Overman, Jim White, and Maria Yefimova, and has become experienced in classical, jazz, and popular music styles. He has performed with artists including David Pope, Bob McChesney, Wayne Bergeron, Bill Holman, Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Shenandoah Symphony Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and Aashish Khan. His recording credits include album releases with Buttertub, Matt Smiley, Natalie Prass, Lydia Ooghe, Paul Wilson, and Matthew E. White. Matt has held teaching positions at Richmond area schools Benedictine College Preparatory and Stonewall Jackson Middle School.
