An invaluable teacher

Taking lessons for an instrument is a very important thing. However, finding the right teacher is more important in my opinion. Martin is one of those ideal teachers that really understands guitar, voice, composition, teaching and just music overall. Martin has given me plenty of material to learn such as exercises for rhythm, techniques, scales, solos to learn, books to read, and music to listen to. He has also given me many opportunities to perform in various settings. The atmosphere of the lesson is friendly yet it is still very focused. The primary focus of the lesson is always about how to make music and how to better yourself at your instrument. If you want to focus on improving yourself at making music, and your instrument, while still learning about other types of music and artists, then this is the teacher for you. Taking lessons with Martin has changed the way I look at guitar, composition and music for the better. I can confidently say that I would not be as good at guitar if I hadn't been taking lessons with Martin.
