I am an active professional opera singer with experience as a studio musician (Philadelphia and LA) and as a singer/violinist in a HipHop band. As a professional singer I have had the opportunity to perform over 30 operatic roles nationwide and sing at venues such as Carnegie Hall and SXSW. I hold a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory and a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelors of the Arts in International Studies from Indiana University. My varied background has led me to develop a style of teaching that caters to each student's unique needs and goals with a foundation in a solid technique that will allow the student to sing healthfully for a long time. My training has given me multiple approaches to each aspect of singing which then allows me to tailor my lessons to each student's learning style and quickly help them progress. Most students see improvement in the first lesson. In addition to my experience teaching private lessons, I conducted Early Childhood Music classes (Musikgarten) for ages 2-6 and performed in Opera Saratoga's outreach children's opera, which toured elementary schools in upstate New York. I love introducing kids to music and have successfully used the concepts from Musikgarten and the children's opera in private lessons. I use these lessons to begin to develop pitch recognition, rhythm and basic music theory in young kids who may want to get a head start before playing an instrument/singing or to just nurture a love for the art form. I have also worked for school districts as a Special Education Aide and am comfortable teaching students who may need additional support. I am happy to work with the parents and/or student to find creative solutions to each student's unique needs and have found successful solutions in the past. I look forward to working with you and and helping you reach your goals, whatever they might be!

Laura was super patient with me as a first time voice student. I really appreciate her positivity and understanding as we worked through the basics.

I already hear improvement in my singing after just a couple of lessons. Laura is a tremendously gifted vocalist, but more importantly Laura has a gift for educating others on finding their own voice, with improving their technique and helping connect to their natural style. Not to mention she creates a friendly and relaxing environment throughout the lesson. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would
