Guitar with Kyle N.

Kyle has been teaching in the Ann Arbor and Detroit area for over 20 years. He graduated with a degree in classical guitar from Eastern Michigan University in 2000. On top of a busy teaching schedule, Kyle performs with the Platinum selling rock group Sponge and has recorded and toured throughout the United States the most recent being this years Summerland tour featuring 90′s heavy hitters Everclear, Live, Filter and Sponge. Kyle is also the guitar teacher at Rudolf Steiner high school and part time staff at Washtenaw Community College where he teaches everything from beginning to intermediate, classical,rock guitar and hopefully the “under construction” guitar ensemble class. Being versatile is a favorite part of teaching and playing the guitar for Kyle and passing that ability on is one of his goals as a teacher. There are lots of ways to make a living playing music and being open minded and educated plays a big part in being a solid working musician. Here is a list of current and past projects: Sponge: Never stops working. Just signed a new record deal with a new c.d. and tour dates in 2013/14. Solid Frog: Alternative rock band with two c.d.’s and lots of tour dates under their belt. Throttlebody: Defiant Detroit metal new c.d. coming soon. The Amoroso quartet EMU: classical ensemble music (defunct) The Rhythm Society Orchestra: Awesome Big band era swing music. Marshall Neely and the Deputies of Destruction: Three piece rock band that disbanded too soon after one c.d. Rudolf Steiner High School: Part time faculty, Beginning and advanced guitar. Washtenaw Community College: Part time faculty, beginning and intermediate classical guitar, rock guitar, beginning guitar, and finger style blues and slide guitar. Kyle teaches through music and encourages his students to work on music they are interested in, he also tries to bring versatility to his students, a sort of “cross training” approach to keep things fresh.
