About Kevin K.

In the seven years that I've been teaching lessons, I've helped my students construct routines for their school talent shows, create close-up magic shows for their families, and even pass auditions into reputable magic organizations and shows. I've taught magic lessons and classes for people of all levels of experience and skill. In my heart, I'm a huge magic nerd, which is why I love working with students and helping them develop as technicians and performers. While the secrets to magic are more accessible now than ever, I'm very detail oriented, so in lessons, I focus on the "real-work" of magic. I make sure that you don't just learn the general idea of a trick, but you learn the important details about where to put your pinky, how to block angles, where to shift your gaze, and how to create a magical experience. Magic can be frustrating since secrecy is at odds with learning, which is why a teacher is vital for magical development.
Common topics of focus with students:
-Beginning card magic
-Beginning coin magic
-Developing a set or show
-Advanced card technique
-Advanced coin technique
-Magic Theory (misdirection, presentation, timing, psychology, and construction)
Kevin is a Brooklyn, NY based magician and card expert. Upon his moving from Chicago to New York in 2014, he quickly became a regular performer on A Taste of Magic and Monday Night Magic, New York's two highest rated and longest running magic shows. In Chicago he won the Alliance of Chicago Entertainers Close Up Competition, and in 2017 he became the youngest magician to ever win Magician of the Year from the New York Magic Enclave. Aside from his own performances, Kevin is also a consultant and creator for other magicians, and has consulted on Joshua Jay's Off-Broadway show "Six Impossible Things" and Tricked on YTV. He has also worked at Tannen's Magic as well as taught lessons and classes privately and for Tannen's Magic Camp.
