Greetings, aspiring saxophonists! I am a performer and teacher originally from Sarasota Florida. For the past two years, I have taught saxophone as the Visiting Professor at Florida State University. Before that, I taught saxophonists of all ages at the Eastman Community Music School in Rochester, NY while working on my Doctorate at the Eastman School of Music. Previously, I also taught privately in Ann Arbor Michigan while working on my Bachelor's and Master's of Music at the University of Michigan. I have experience teaching students of all ages (elementary school through adult seniors) and all ability levels (beginner through advanced). Lessons are tailored to the goals of each individual student with an emphasis on tone control, proper technique, and musical creativity/interpretation. If your goal is to major in music in college, I will help you get there! If your goal is simply to play for fun and have music be an integral part of your life, I can help you do that as well! Many of my students have gone on to top music schools and been finalists in national competitions, and many just play for fun. However, one thing they all have in common is a passion for personal communication through music-making! Shoot me a message and let's work together to help you meet your goals!

I have had at least three years with Katherine. She is a wonderful teacher. Got me out of my comfort zone. Tho a bit painful !! She was very patient with me, and understanding, and very encouraging. The hard work we did together gave me the confidence I needed. I highly recommend and respect her.

Great teacher! As an older student and vision impaired, Katherine was patient, supportive and instructive. She provided insight in her teaching and was to gently push me to do better. Loved working with her!
