Teaching since:

Hello! My name is Jordyn and I would love to help you reach your acting and speaking goals! I only recently began offering lessons, but I've been acting and helping others act for over a decade. I received my BA in Theatre from Knox College in 2014, where I studied many different acting and directing techniques. I am an extremely passionate and enthusiastic person, which pours over into my lessons. I've loved theatre since I was a child and teaching theatre is a dream come true. To me, there's nothing more lovely than seeing someone shine and knowing that I helped that shine to happen.

For the six weeks of Summer Academy, I taught 5 classes every weekday: 2 classes of Creative Drama for Kindergarten through First Graders, 1 class of Creative Drama for Third through Fifth Graders, and 2 classes of Mini Musical for Third through Fifth Graders.

In each class, the children learned the basics of acting through drama activities/improv games and participated in the production of several short plays (or a short musical in the Mini Musical class), performed for parents on the last day of Summer Academy.

Collectively, I'd characterize my experience with Jordyn as phenomenal! I began my lessons with a timid approach to not only my skill set for the art form but also how this website would help me reach my goals. Having said that, I took the plunge and jumped in feet first...and let me tell you, I'm the opposite of disappointed. Jordyn has an uncanny ability (and acumen!) to utilize every minute of each session in the utmost way. Her passion for acting, paired with her strong ability to teach, makes each session seemingly fly by (in a good way) and something I very much look forward to. Jordyn's consistent and honest feedback has lead to a steadfast growth in my own confidence as an actor and the ability to accurately reflect on my current ability. She's been the catalyst for delivering exponentially noticeable results and has expedited the learning curve. She's not only a teacher, but also a caring theatric partner. I would absolutely recommend Jordyn for anyone looking to dive into the world of acting or refine their craft!!
