I have a music degree from Berklee, over 15 years experience in giving private instruction, and years of live performance experience as well. I've also taught theory, ear training, and songwriting in the classroom. I take a hands on approach to private lessons. My view is that the sooner you are actually involved in the process of playing the music you want to play, the faster you will learn and understand how to play your instrument. From the start I focus on rhythm, basic harmony, technique, song form, and the basics of performing your music (whether just for yourself in practice or for friends, family, or an audience. So whether you are looking just to play for your own enjoyment, to start playing with friends, or to perform for a crowd you'll be able to achieve those goals through my instruction approach!
