I changed careers from being in the investment industry to teaching and tutoring math because I believe that for many people achieving happiness and success in today's world requires strong math skills. I have always had fun with math and I am saddened when I hear people say, "I'm not good at math". I believe that most people are much better at math than they think they are. They just need a patient, passionate, caring, and creative person like me who can help them overcome their fears, realize how much they already know, and discover the joy and usefulness of math. Using skills that I have developed while teaching, tutoring, and working in the financial industry, I can help you improve your understanding of important math concepts. Instead of just memorizing formulas and equations, I will help you make connections to your prior knowledge and to real-world applications. By customizing all of my lessons, I will be able to build on your strengths, focus on the areas that will help you the most, and boost your self-confidence. As I help you increase your self-confidence, I think that you also will find that knowledge of math can be fun, powerful, and insightful. In addition to improving your math and economics knowledge, I can help you achieve better results on homework, exams, and standardized tests by helping you with studying, time-management and test-taking techniques.
