Jesse Bonnell is co-founder and director of Poor Dog Group, a collective dedicated to contemporary theater. Nationally, his work has been shown at REDCAT, Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, RADAR L.A., South Coast Repertory, Bootleg Theater, The Getty Villa, EMPAC, The Collapsible Hole, Baruch Performing Arts Center, CATCH! Series, and site-specific locations. Abroad, his work has toured throughout Eastern Europe including Croatia, Poland and Serbia. Jesse was recently awarded a MacDowell Colony Fellowship and residencies at REDCAT, Rotterdamse Schouwburg, UCLA, CalArts, Yaddo, Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. He has taught workshops based in original performance at University of California Santa Barbara, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Zagreb, and CalArts. He is currently in residency at The Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA. Jesse graduated from the California Institute of the Arts.
