Learn saxophone as easy as the way yo learned to speak as a child.

My name is Jens, and I am a trained saxophone player and multi instrumentalist graduated from The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark (where I am from), and from The New school of Music in New York. I have extensive knowledge of most musical styles including jazz, blues, classical, pop, electronic and others. I can teach you how to get a good and warm sound, how to achieve dexterity on the instrument in order to get the best experiences playing music. Saxophone is a fantastic instrument that is actually quite easy to learn juxtaposed to other instruments. I believe in listening and playing and I don't use a lot of sheet music. I mostly only work by ear since I was taught that way myself through the Zuzuki method, playing violin and saxophone as a child. I enjoy playing the instruments as much as possible during the lesson and having the student following my lead in terms of exercises and repertoire. Since I know how to move a student from one level of playing to the next. Watching students breakthroughs, suddenly being able to play something new and more difficult is always an immense joy.

    About Jens B.

I am a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and music teacher originally from Denmark living in Los Angeles since 2011. I grew up in Denmark and studied violin since the age of 5 through the Suzuki method. I switched to saxophione at the age of 12 and also learned proficciency on most other instruments including piano, guitar, bass, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, drums, trumpet, trombone, etc. I have scored films for Ai Weiwei and Lars Von Trier, composed for Spacejam 2 - as well as for the Royal Danish Theatre and been nominated for a Danish Oscar. composed 4 algorithmic operas and collaborated with the Allen Ginsburg trust featuring Ai Weiwei. My band and art collective, O Future that mixes eletronics with orchestral music, has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Spin, Pitchfork and hundreds of other international media outlets. I was fellow at the Lincoln City fellowship in 2020 and 2021 and I am currently scoring a symphonic piece mixing modern day production techniques with symphonic compositional ideas. As an educator I started teaching saxophone at the age of 16 at a Waldorf school in Aarhus Denmark and later studied music soloist diploma and educational studies at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen Denmark and at The New school of Music in New York. Over the span of 3-4 years I taught at several public and private music schools in Denmark as well as teaching guest courses at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and at The Royal academy of music in Aarhus Denmark. I am currently teaching private students in LA. Press quotes: NYTIMES  ‘a treat to the ears, warbling synths, plucky string sections and shimmering vocals”  I-D  ‘Listening to O Future is like having a really sexy nightmare that you won't want to wake up from. Q MAG ‘so intriguing that as soon as the track finishes, the desire to hit the replay button is irresistible.”
