    About Jasmine P.

**WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE** My background is in Musical Theater, but I currently consider myself a folk-soul singer. I enjoy people a lot and love being part of their musical journeys. A lot of my students have become close friends. Aside from private lessons, I also aim to build community. I host performance workshops, songwriting workshops, and student showcases at real music venues here in SF. I've done 5 already this year, with 2 more on the books! I host music meet ups, a songwriting-circle, and karaoke nights! My students and I take "field trips" to different open mic nights and concerts and we have a lot of fun! Come improve your vocal technique, and meet like-minded people that will encourage, inspire and help you meet your goals! I am entrenched in the SF Live Music scene as I work in different sectors of it. I work for a live event production company (KC Turner Presents) that hosts open mics and puts in intimate concert in both music venues and people's houses. I also co-founded a video production company, Pint of Soul, which focuses on capturing the live/intimate sound of acoustic performers. Before finding my stride in teaching and producing student performances, I managed bands and booked music for a couple of different local music venues. I live and breathe music and my multiple endeavors gives me the unique perspective needed to help my students grow their careers and opportunities as they hone their skills. **LESSONS** Voice lessons with me focus on 3 things: 1) building/correcting technique ensuring a SAFE way to develop your voice which entails breathing and breath control/support, correct vowel placement, range brightening, and ear training. 2) Stylization and understanding of how we produce sound and why we sound the way we do. This helps students embrace their own voice and sound, and work with what they are comfortable with AND THEN reaching goals of how they want to sound and 3) Stamina, control and confidence building: Becoming comfortable with different notes, scales and genres.
