I have over thirty years of experience teaching piano and tutoring music theory with students of all ages from age 4 to senior citizens! Young or older beginners and students who want to refresh their piano training from years ago are especially welcome as I am patient and like to set up reachable goals in small steps. I like to work with beginners especially because I truly enjoy watching them grow into proficient players playing music they enjoy. Most of my students want to get a solid piano background playing music they love as well as becoming a proficient reader of music. And that is my goal! I am a member of the California Music Teachers Association and also participate in the Certificate of Merit program if the students want to participate. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Theory and piano from the Wisconsin College Conservatory of Music and a Master of Arts degree in Music Composition from Mills College.
