Incredible teacher and mentor
Fernando taught my son guitar for many years, but also taught him the love of music. He was not only by far, the best teacher we ever found but also a mentor to my son. My son could not wait to work with him every week and worked hard to make him proud. He was and always will be a very influential person in my son life. Excellent teacher, wonderful man.
I have had the opportunity to have received instruction from more than a few music teachers, and I can say without a doubt.....
Fernando is one of the best teachers in the business!
He has great communication and really makes you feel welcome.
Weather you are new or seasoned you can really benefit from his instruction.
Besides being a great teacher he is a very proficient guitar player and covers many styles of music.
You will always feel like you can reach your goals with his help.
If you are looking for a teacher, give him the opportunity, you will not regret it!
Fernando is a fantastic teacher!
Fernando has been teaching our two children guitar for over a year and a half. His passion for guitar and teaching is evident at every lesson. His gentle mannerisms and clear understanding of children and how they process and learn is the perfect mix to allow for continual growth in the subject. We could not have asked for a better teacher!
Excellent Guitar Teacher
I've been studying with Fernando for over half a year and I have been playing guitar on and off for about 20 years and have been mostly self taught. I came to a point where I really needed to properly learn music theory to keep progressing and jam with other musicians. Fernando has really helped me understand and use music theory to benefit my playing. We have been covering major and minor scales all over the guitar neck, circle of fifths/cycle of fourths, chords, chord progressions, the modes (Lydian, Phrygian etc#, extended chords #9ths, 11ths, 13ths etc#, and modal progressions. He has really helped me to understand what scales can be played over what chords progressions, and how different chord progressions outline a major or minor or even modal e.g. dorian or mixolydian sounding progression. His teaching style is easy going and informative, and we have covered a lot of ground. Everything has been sinking in and I have been able to use what I have learned when playing and improvising with other musicians. Fernando has not tried to impose a particular style of music for me to learn #e.g. other teachers I have studied with would only want to cover jazz). He is able to play and teach multiple styles of music and will help you reach your goals and specific interests. I have found that everything I have learned would apply to multiple musical styles, whether it is country, jazz, heavy metal or classic rock and blues. I would definately recommend checking out Fernando if you are looking for a guitar teacher, whether you are just getting started and wanting to learn your first Green Day or Beatles song, or you are wanting to fully understand music theory and master the instrument.
