My name is Evangeline, and I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching. I have been teaching piano since 2007. Since second grade, I have served as a church pianist in different churches as different roles. At the University of Redlands, as a music major, I learned music theory, ear training and sight singing, and performance in jazz and classical piano. Even though my emphasis is in piano performance, I also play the violin and viola. Currently I am working as a student teacher at a local elementary school.

So far my daughter has had three lessons and with each lesson we're patting ourselves on the back for choosing Evangeline 😄. She's super prepared and organized. Even before we chose her, she was really helpful and gave us very objective info. Sometimes it's hard for kids to focus with online lessons - especially when it's summertime. I watch the recorded lessons after and there are times that my daughter looks off into space probably dreaming of Minecraft or Roblox, but Evangeline is undeterred and is able to reel her back in. She's super patient and engaging. Before her first lesson, we discussed what we wanted to get out of this experience and Evangeline has created a lesson plan that will help achieve that. So long story short - so far so good!

First lesson went really well. I really like that she takes the time to get to know her students so that she can tailor the lesson to their interests. Looking forward to the next one.
