Learn Piano with ease from an expert musician and instructor

I taught music lessons in a private school in Nova Scotia, Canada, for 10 years before moving to the United States in 2015. At this private school setting, I taught piano, voice, percussion, and drama. I worked with all ages from preschool to grade 12. I love working with children and thinking up new and exciting ways to learn and grow. I have a passion for bonding with teenagers and giving them hope for the future and cultivating pathways of success. I have a special spot in my heart for working with adults because I still love to study and know the thrill of new learning as an adult. As an added bonus, I am studied in the holistic approach of the Russian school of music and can make music come alive in the mind as well as the fingers. I teach each student as an individual finding his or her strengths and taking him or her to the highest level. I graduated this past May of 2021 from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance. Playing the piano at all levels is fun. Let's do it together.

    About Esther J.

My name is Esther J, and I taught in a private school in Nova Scotia, Canada, for 10 years before moving to the United States to further my education. I taught different aspects of music such as piano, singing, drama, and percussion to all ages from preschool to grade 12. After school hours, I gave private lessons to anyone in the neighborhood or our church that desired to learn piano. All the while, I myself was taking lessons in several instruments at a time such as guitar, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, piano, and voice. Then in my free time I learned to play the flute, saxophone, accordion, and autoharp on my own. Since I loved music, I decided to get a degree in performance at Eastern Connecticut State University. I finished my BA in piano performance this past May 2021. In addition, I played trombone in the university concert band. With my piano lessons, I begin by trying to find student's strengths -- what is fun and exciting. After inspiring my students, I emphasize posture and hand position. As time goes on, I introduce sight-reading and ear-training, scales and arpeggios, and theory along with the classical repertoire to increase finger skill and conceptual understanding. Playing the piano at all levels is fun. Let's do it together.
