I am focused on the success of students both as flute players and as overall musicians. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California and a Master's degree from the University of Florida, both in flute performance. Building upon the various pedagogical techniques of my former teachers, I create an individualized lesson plan for each student, considering their own needs, interests, and learning styles. As a teacher, I take a holistic approach to teaching flute that includes flute technique, music theory as applicable, and overall musicianship/musicality. Beginners will work out of a book that includes all necessary materials, while Intermediate and Advanced students will work on a combination of scales, etudes, duets, and concert pieces each week in order to develop all types of flute playing.
