Playing flute? Learn, improve, and enjoy with an experienced teacher/performer
Your enjoyment of the flute and your hopes for your flute-playing are important to me. You and I will develop an individualized plan to learn and perfect your flute tone, finger dexterity, breathing, sightreading, knowledge of flute repertoire, and more! I enjoy guiding you as you discover new methods, songs, and techniques. Hopefully you'll find that I'm a friendly, patient, and positive teacher who will gently push you to being a better flute player.
I work with various skill and age levels- beginners, intermediates, pre-college music majors, children through adults, as well as those who are taking up the flute again after a long break.

About Ellen D.
I love teaching and I love playing flute! I have been teaching music to individuals, and school classes for grades preschool through community college for many years.
My performance activities include regular participation in a local church, a community band, small ensembles (flute ensemble, cello/2 flute ensemble, and more), and solo performances in quarterly concerts. I play professionally in local events and weddings.
I started playing piano at the age of 5, continued with that as I started flute at the age of 13, received my BA degree in Music Performance on flute, and an MS in Education. I continue to learn, practice, perform, and teach.
I look forward to helping you develop your flute-playing ability and your joy of music!
