I have been teaching music in a school district for 8 years

Thorough and makes you feel confident in learning. Knows his stuff! Looking forward to learning more.
Awesome Instructor! He is fantastic working with my son. He is extremely knowledgeable and has immense patience working with you people! Highly recommend!
He takes time to help you understand where you made mistakes so you can get better.
First lesson - I'm an older student and I'd highly recommend Dustin.
Awesome! Started out with just the kids and now I'm taking lessons!
I'm coming back to playing after 6 years of not thinking about music at all. Dustin gave me some great jumping off points for playing, reading music, and practice technique.
Dustin is very knowledgable but works with me using my existing knowledge as a foundation. He understands exactly what I am looking for and customized each lesson for me.
My daughter said the lesson was very helpful. We will continue to see Dustin for lessons.
It was great start by Dustin for my son with guitar and daughter with violin
It was great start by Dustin for my son with guitar and daughter with violin
This was my first lesson on any instrument. Dustin was very patient. I learned the correct way to hold the cello and some practice drills.
Dustin is very knowledgeable about the guitar and music in general. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand and tailors lessons around what the student wants to learn.
Mr. Newbold is a qualified instructor who knows his craft. I took lessons with him for several years and it was an enjoyable experience. He is versatile and an accomplished player on multiple instruments himself; he does not speak from untried theory but from experience. If anyone is looking to start playing an instrument, Dustin is a good instructor to consider.+ Read More
When looking for an instructor what is best to find is knowledge of the subject. When it comes to Mr. Newbold, he delivers; Whether it be current or past. He has had outstanding experience with acclimating to every student's needs and learning style. He provides a great environment/atmosphere which is critical to learning. If his credentials don't speak enough, then his personal musical talent should.+ Read More
Mr. Newbold is a very talented musician, director and instructor. He is so accomplished with so many instruments. Both of my children were his students, and each gained a strong appreciation for music as they were taught by Mr. Newbold throughout their high school years. I also had the opportunity to work with him though the "Spirit League" parent organization. His talent, dedication to music, and his ability to reach out to his students, encouraging them to meet and exceed their goals are certainly a few of his strong attributes. I would, without hesitation, recommend him as an instructor for all levels of learning.+ Read More
I started taking guitar lessons with Dusting Newbold when I was in 7th grade and continued taking them with him until a year after graduating high school. He was very patient when with me when I started taking my lessons but, would push me to be the best I could possibly be for the amount of time I had been playing. After taking guitar lessons with him he encouraged me to start playing other instruments and I then started playing baritone in the high school band. He is an extremely knowledgeable music instructor and a he makes the music you are learning fun. I would highly recommend him as a instructor.+ Read More

I took lessons with Mr. Dustin Newbold for 4 years, starting my Freshman year in high school. I had him all four years during high school and in that time I learned more than any other teacher could possibly teach. I learned how to read Treble and Bass music, how to play Acoustic, Electric, and Bass guitar, and even a little drums in his marching band. He also taught me the history of how music really came to be. He is very knowledgeable in music and I wouldn't choose any other teacher. His style of teaching is by far the best, he will interact 100% with his students and listen to what they want to learn and he will make sure they learn what they want. I went in wanting to know more about classic rock, blues, and more current rock, and he did just that. He would make sure I understood everything I wanted to know before we moved on, he taught me some of the history that went behind the music I wanted to learn, and he helped me explore more in those areas of music. I also took his music appreciation class and music theory classes and he didn't leave a single detail out. Highly recommend him to any student because he can teach everything there is to learn and he is very patient. Very proud of what I have accomplished as one of his students!+ Read More
I started taking lessons from Dustin Newbold my Sophomore year of high school. I took his guitar class and learned the basics then moved on to bass guitar. He went at a pace that was not only easy to learn and memorize, but also seemed more exciting than what I would have thought learning an instrument would be. After the first year of guitar lessons, Mr. Newbold recommended that I move up from guitar class to actually being in the school band. The fact that he took me from knowing nothing about music, to me to joining the school band was an amazing feeling. This opened many doors for me, including a full ride scholarship to college for band and choir. I would highly recommended Mr. Newbold as a Music Instructor.+ Read More
I took classical guitar from Dustin for over 5 years. His knowledge of music and guitar is amazing and his thorough, patient instruction got me to where i wanted to be with guitar quickly. I am sorry that he had to move, we had been talking about restarting my lessons now that my schedule has opened up. To sit in the same room and hear him play will move and inspire you to excel with your instrument. He is a master musician and character is impeccable, I highly recommend him to any prospective student.+ Read More
Dustin Newbold began teaching my son guitar lessons when my son was 10 years old and continued for the past 6 years. He taught him to play the electric guitar, the acoustic and then the bass guitar. Dustin taught him tabs, chords and reading music. He became affluent in each of them.
My daughter began taking violin lessons with Dustin and then took trumpet lessons. She progressed so much in such a short amount of time.
Dustin has a tremendous love for music and is such a talented musician. His love for music is apparent and quickly spread to both of my children. He chooses music that they like to play and that keeps their interest and causes them to practice without prompting. I have always been amazed at how quickly they advanced with their talent and knowledge and how much they enjoyed going to their lessons. My only regret is that he moved away from our area. I would highly recommend Dustin Newbold to anyone of any age seeking to begin learning a musical instrument or advancing in their own personal knowledge.
Dustin Newbold has been my violin teacher for nearly eight years.
He is an accomplished musician and outstanding teacher, always patient, encouraging, and professional. He brought me through the very early stages of the violin as a beginner student, to now playing first violin in the community orchestra.
He has not only helped me become a better musician, but has been very knowledgeable in bringing me through the rough times of bowing, tuning, and even selecting the appropriate violin, strings, and accessories.
Dustin has the sensitivity to understand the student's level of ability and skill, and he creates a path for improvement. Lessons are always challenging and fun.
I highly recommend Dustin to any student who is serious about learning music, and especially to those to aim to be proficient on their instrument.
Mr. Newbold Taught me how to play a Baritone/Euphonium from 5th grade to 8th grade, and also taught me how to play the tuba in 8th grade. I would have continued in highschool if my schedule would have allowed it. Mr. Newbold taught me not only how to play music, but he also helped enhance my love for music. Although he teaches primarily guitar lessons now, he knows how to teach instruments of all variety. I went from a 5th grade girl who didn't even know how to hold my instrument, to an 8th grader who could outplay some of the college students that I knew. Mr. Newbold is not only a great band instructor, but also a very understanding individual and a friend to each and every one of his students.+ Read More
Dustin was a great guitar teacher who taught me how to read guitar notes and play classical songs and rock songs. Wish he didn't have to move
