Music is a subject that anyone can relate to. Playing and performing music is a dream that many people aspire. I have watched my students grow from complete beginners to taking stages in front of a large audience. I am always thorough about teaching my students the basics: understanding proper technique, dynamics, rhythm, and timing. I teach my students to play to a metronome, read music and rhythms, play songs, and play along with other live musicians. I specialize in many various genres of music including funk, rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, Latin, prog, and metal. Over time, you will learn to play like the professionals that inspire you.

Hey there! My name is Dennis, and I have been playing the drums for most of my life, and have taught for nearly 10 years. Music has become my greatest passion, and I love to share it with anyone who wants to learn. Music is a very special artform in which everyone can relate, feel, and understand, and creating that nostalgia is an incredible virtue. Over the years, I have the opportunity to share stages with many bands, record drums for artists, and watch my students grow into professionals. If you would like to see me perform, you can find me on Friday nights near Pizza My Heart in Downtown Palo Alto. I can teach lessons to students of any age, skill level, or versatility. If you are willing to learn, I am here to help you reach your goals. Some fundamentals that I teach include proper technique, reading and playing rhythms, ear training, dynamics, ambidexterity, improvisation, feel, and of course any song you'd like to learn.

Recording is a completely different skillset from performing, as it requires special attention to the little details such as precise timing, dynamics, composition, consistency, and lots of patience.
