Take Classes in Ballet, Modern Dance, and Choreography with a College Professor

My highest priority as a teacher is to enrich my students’ lives and help them find joy through dance. I care deeply about each of my students as whole people and aim for our work in class to benefit their everyday lives as well as their study of dance. I offer technique classes in ballet and modern dance, as well as creative classes that incorporate writing and choreography. Furthermore, I have experience incorporating somatics, mindfulness, and improvisation into my teaching. This can be infused into technique classes or offered as classes on their own. I am happy to work with a wide range of students, from children through older adults, and absolute beginners to professional dancers. Upon booking, we can discuss what you are looking for in a class, whether that is honing advanced technique or simply getting exercise and having fun with movement and music. I can tailor the class to fit your needs and we can have a great time dancing together!

A unique trait that Dana has mastered in teaching is finding the great balance of being personable yet professional with students. Dana’s ballet class is always a joy to walk into, breath of fresh air to experience, and a fulfilling way to start the morning. The passion Dana has for teaching and dance merges into a beautiful method of connecting with students, which makes every lesson throughout class worthwhile and meaningful. She is always supportive, motivating, and honest; I truly respect and admire her work. I feel honored to have learned from her, and I know in my heart it is a necessity to maintain a bond with her for a lifetime.

Dana is a great teacher! I greatly enjoyed taking her ballet class. Her class helped me develop a positive relationship with ballet. She is talented at creating an inviting atmosphere that allows each student to feel accepted and welcomed. I appreciate how she challenged us to be the best version of ourselves!

Dana has helped me refine my technique and musicality through hard but rewarding classes. In these sessions, I was able to develop a better connection to my body and employ more efficient pathways in my dancing (and life!) While I enjoyed taking her classes in person, working with her online through private lessons really took my dancing to a deeper, more personal level!
