I have spent many years studying and applying the life-sciences as a medical student and physician, and I have found that I am particularly excited and passionate about teaching and making the life-sciences accessible to students. My clinical experience helps me bring to life for students how academic material has important, real-world applications in medicine and similar areas. My past teaching experience includes tutoring of college students while I was a dual-enrolled homeschooled high-school student, engaging in effective study groups during college, and in peer-/patient-education during medical school and pediatric residency, as well as clinical education of pediatric patients and their families in a private practice. Through my diversity of experience, I have found that I love helping people see the beauty and fascinating world of biology and helping them experience “ah-ha” moments as they understand something for the first time. Given my own history, I am particularly interested in helping high school students (public, private, and/or homeschooled) who are interested in pursuing pre-medicine, college students currently preparing for medical school, and/or medical students seeking added help from someone who understands the unique nature of the challenges they face. Educational background: MD from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC BS in Biochemistry, Minor in Biology from Grove City College, PA. Graduated from Pediatric Residency at Loma Linda, CA Past teaching experience: peer-tutoring at college-level while in high-school. ~ 4 years clinical medical practice with experience providing clinical education to patients (including children) and peers at a wide range of age and education levels. My schedule is flexible, particularly for online tutoring.
