Shakespearean Acting with Cody H.

I am a director, devised-theatre maker, and teaching artist currently based in Los Angeles with roots in New York City, Upstate New York, and Seattle, Washington. I have my MFA in Directing from the University of Washington School of Drama, as well as my bachelor's degree in Drama from Columbia University. As a director I am passionate about new plays and re-imagining the classics. I am a co-founder and former artistic board member of the New York theatre company The Brewing Dept., which now acts as the non-profit producer of Corkscrew Theater Festival. I have directed, devised, produced, and collaborated on works at theaters such as HERE Arts, Dixon Place, HOT! Festival, FringeNYC, Fresh Fruit Festival, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Intiman Theatre, ArtsWest, the Rochester Fringe Festival and more. As a teaching artist, I have taught and coached actors from middle school students through adults. Past teaching experience includes two years teaching acting and directing at the University of Washington, as well as a fall 2019 appointment as an adjunct lecturer at Barnard College (of Columbia University) teaching Rehearsal and Performance.
