In 2013, Chris opened his own independent lesson studio, The Chops Shop, in Tacoma, WA. The Chops Shop is friendly, comfortable, clean and caters to students of all ages and abilities. You won’t be taking your lessons in a cramped little cubicle. You won’t be pressured to buy lesson packets and method books. Centrally located to Tacoma, Puyallup, Spanaway and Lakewood, The Chops Shop is easy to find, has ample parking, a comfy waiting/reception area and specializes in just one thing: learning to play.
From the mosh pit to the orchestra pit, and most points in between, versatility is one of Chris’s major strengths. A full-time instructor and performing musician, he has studied at Mira Costa College and has been making his living as a teaching and performing musician for over 15 years. As a teacher, Chris provides personalized, flexible lesson programs designed to help the student learn to play what they want to play, while mastering the skills necessary to explore any style of music.
