    About Chazz A.

Great that you or your son/daughter have an interest in the Saxophone! I have been playing for over 30yrs, began teaching younger students while in school, and have continued throughout my life to introduce people to the horn. Traditionally, study is based on Jazz and/or Classical music. While this is a great way to learn the rudiments of playing, I like to incorporate different styles, particularly the type of music the student likes! This is a great way to prepare to play in the world at large, and keeps study interesting. Whether you're looking to play for personal enjoyment, prepare for professional performance, or you or your child are in a school program, I can provide tailored guidance toward performance goals. Please feel free to give me a call with any questions- new students: play a song on your first lesson! • Assistance finding student horns, or pro upgrades • My place or yours, or anywhere convenient and quiet • Current players: learn at new levels • Advanced players: one-time masterclass After attending Berklee College of Music, I've lived around the country, playing/touring with ensembles of all different styles. I settled down with my wife and son in Covington, LA a few years back, and have been playing the Northshore and NOLA at various venues, including the Maple Leaf and the Abita Opry.
