A graduate of Fordham University at Lincoln Center as well as The Juilliard School's Drama Division, I have been teaching and coaching students for over 10 years.
I have a broad range of students that include young actors here in New York, as well as students applying to high school, college theater, and conservatory training programs.
Each series of sessions begins with an assessment of the student's needs. The Series is then tailor-made for the student based on their individual goals.
All sessions last an hour and can be done in person at a studio location in Manhattan or via Skype. Every session begins with vocal/physical warm-up, brief imaginative work, and then detailed text analysis in connection to the piece.
Past clients of mine have been accepted to NYU's Undergraduate Theater Program, Carnegie Mellon, Fordham, and Fiorello LaGuardia High School. I've served as a member of the Theater faculty for Harlem School of the Arts, Henry Street Settlement, and The Kentucky Center for the Arts. And I am currently a Guest Artist for Manhattan Theater Club's Education Dept.
I coach because I care about the work. Dedication to my students comes from a deep love for what I do, and the possibility that I can help inspire them through the work as well.

Carolyn is a fantastic acting teacher!
Carolyn has been such a gift to work with! I'm currently in college for acting and when I went to her for help on getting over a block in my progress I not only noticed but physically felt a difference in my acting technique. I've now had multiple classes with her and will be continuing classes with her because she has helped me develop my technique in ways some of my schooling hasn't. She's also been very flexible with figuring out dates and times for our next class which has been important for me with my busy schedule. I've had online classes with her and in person (which she lets me know when she's in the city in case I want to do an in person class) and both ways have been beneficial for me. I truly believe you will see valuable growth as a performer if you take lessons with Carolyn!!+ Read More
Carolyn did a excellent job!
Very nice to work with.
Carolyn is the best acting teacher I ever had. She prepared me for all my auditions, which got me into the Fordham theater program, helped me grow as a person and made me fall in love with acting even more. I am so happy I was lucky enough to have had her as my coach and would recommend her anytime without a doubt!+ Read More
Carolyn made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. I have never worked with someone so professional, yet so fun at the same time. Not only does she offer valuable information and instruction, but she actually cares to see you succeed. She has a passion for acting and a love for her students. She reaches out often to make sure you are still doing well and still improving. If you are ever looking for an instructor, look no further because Carolyn is all you need.+ Read More
I took private lessons with Carolyn and I must say she opened my train of thought to a new level in terms of breaking down monologues piece by piece. The way she helped me process and deliver the material was in a way that I’ve never been taught before and I must say I highly recommend her if you’re looking to strengthen and excel in your overall acting chops. What I love most about working with Carolyn is that she’s very down to earth. I remember first reaching out to her over the phone and with the conversation that we’d had, I knew I was making the right decision by making her my acting coach. Trust me, get her while you can because there’s not many like her whom not only cares about helping you carve into your craft, but she also cares about your well being. She’s awesome, you won’t regret it!!+ Read More
Carolyn is a gem. She helps prepare you for major auditions, whether it's to get into a training program or a gig. I am currently a student with The School at Steppenwolf, and I used some of the tools she provided to get in. If I were you, I'd take advantage of learning from her immediately before she becomes a household name. Don't walk, RUN to set up your sessions.+ Read More
I worked with Carolyn once before moving to New York City a year and a half ago, and then before auditioning for the Professional Training Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Working with Carolyn was a fantastic experience! I left feeling not only like I had gained a wealth of practical training, but also a sense of groundedness. Also... I got into the Professional Training Company!!! And I still live in NYC! I can’t thank Carolyn enough for helping me in both of those journeys.+ Read More
