    About Cameron T.

Cameron is an accomplished pianist who strives for pure expression and self-mastery through music. With a trained awareness of the many different facets of music creation, his teaching is directly influenced by his personal practice, compositional techniques, and production strategies. Cameron started playing piano at the age of 4, enrolling in classical piano training until the age of 18. During that time he was awarded numerous superior ratings at NCMTA state competitions for classical piano performance. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts in General Music with a focus in Jazz Piano from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington under the instruction of the late Andy Whittington. He most recently earned a Master's Degree in Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto. Cameron has performed with various musical groups throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. Cameron has always strived towards a diversified understanding and knowledge of music, which is why he has performed genres such as jazz, hip-hop, reggae, funk, rock, blues, EDM, folk, and almost anything in-between. He has performed with many North Carolina-based groups such as The Coastal Collective, Temple5, The Keith Butler Trio, The NuJazz Trio, Rebekah Todd & The Odyssey, The Valedictorians, Heritage, and many others. He has also played alongside prominent jazz musicians such as Herman Burney, Delfeayo Marsalis, Joe Chambers, Matthew White, to name a few. He was the co-founder of The Coastal Collective and Temple5, which are two well-known jazz/hip-hop groups in North Carolina. He composed music and performed as a keyboardist extensively at music festivals throughout the southeastern United States, and has had the pleasure of opening up for Lupe Fiasco, CeeLo Green, Nappy Roots, J-Swiss, Wordsworth, and many other prominent hip-hop artists. Cameron's personal discography is something that is continuously being created and evolving with each body of work he composes. Currently honing his skills as a professional sound engineer, Cameron is working on his third Studio Album, “Opia”, which is set to come out in early 2021. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario where he is fortunate enough to be a well-established music educator sharing his knowledge to many different private students.
